I want a set of Wrights in Metric and SAE.

I can't make hide nor hair on their site.

What sets are the most imminent sizes in each of full polish? Satin?
Here is a start -
Metric
Wright Set #750 7-19 mm skipping 16 and 18
Wright Set #751 10-19 mm no skips
Wright Set #752 7-19 mm no skips + 21 & 22
Wright Set #758 7-24 mm no skips
Wright Set #760 6-27 mm no skips + 30, 32, 36, 41, 46, & 50

Don't skip 16 and 18mm. We'll be seeing more of those in the future. 20mm is good to skip. 21mm can be handy. 22mm less so.

Full polish look so pretty and are so easy to clean...

Satin are easier to keep a hold of...

Man... If only I could buy both... And not get griped at...

My problem with my full polish chrome wrenches is that I don't want to beat them up too bad, so I'm extra careful using them. I've been wanting to switch to the satin finish so that I don't have to worry any longer.

That brings me to my next problem: I have a pretty good size set of (matching) wrenches now, and it would cost hundreds to buy a similar set in satin from Wright to get a bunch of sizes I barely ever use.

What's one to do???

ummmm, set aside the "need" for complete sets.

That or sell your existing set of matching wrenches to me for $1 a wrench and buy matchy-matchy new stuff.

I have to admit that I'm a bit confused by all the different Wrench sets that Wright produces. Are all Wright comination wrenches Wright Grip models ? How do you know if they are?

I'd like to know this too. Do all Wright's combo wrenches open end feature Wrightgrip? Maybe this has already been answered.

I just ordered the 958 and 915 sets. Amazon had both for a reasonable price. I wish I had gotten in on the HJE day though. Of course last night I also won a couple sets of snap on long wrench sets too.

Owning some FD+ and proto ASD, (I haven't used Wright grip though) I think they will all work well enough. Woodstock's video shows they both snap grade 8 bolt heads. M2c....

All current production feature WrightGrip, they would have to be old stock to not have that feature.

WrightGrip is only available in sizes 7-24mm and 1/4 to 1 1/4. wrenches outside those sizes are non wrightgrip.

Does Wright have any plan to add "long pattern" wrenches, or is that still a pipe dream?
I doubt it. Longer Wrench length coupled with uniform 15 degree boxed end offset is really the only thing the other brands have over Wrightgrip wrenches. I feel the shorter Wrightgrip is handy for most applications and I have other brands to choose from if I want/need longer.

Not true I have seen them as big as 70 mm.

That came off of the Wright grip info sheet posted at Wrighttool.com

simply click on the Wrightgrip tab at the top of the home page.

Maybe they need to update it then:dunno:

I know when I bought my Wrightgrip set, it only went to 24mm but, that was a couple of Epstein days ago.

On a side note, don't confuse Wrightdrive with Wrightgrip. Wrightdrive refers to the off corner engagement of the boxed end and their sockets. Wrightgrip refers to the modified open end with serrations.

As I said, they have them, this is from another thread, no confusion. HJE also sells them up to crazy SAE sizes.

Here is a 2 5/8" on ebay.

That's kind of a shame. Kind of.

Not that I have any reason to seek replacements for my wrenches, but looking at the specs, the WrightGrip stuff all appears to be shorter than my Craftsman Professional and GearWrench stuffs (which itself is shorter than the OEXL stuff from Snap-on).

Not that they have any kind of modified open end, but if I need/want shorter wrenches, I've got my Craftsman raised-panel stuff.

Wright stuff appears to be between the raised-panel and Craftsman Pro/GearWrench stuff, which isn't really a niche I need filled.

The reason I bought the wrightprip is because of the length. The CMan raised panel wrenches have one of the worst open ends out there, the gearwrench is not much better. I know the WGs are not a true long pattern, but for the price, I don't feel they can be beaten. If I had all the money in the world I would buy snap on FDP in all sizes, but I can't afford all of them. I went with the basic sizes in FDP XL wrenches as well. I think the WGs and the long FDP will compliment each other nicely.

Gearwrench non-ratcheting wrenches have very good open ends with their cut-outs forcing off corner engagement. Works quite well in my experience.
