WRIGHTGrip wrench set

Looking into upgrading my Craftsman Raised Panel combination wrenches to WRIGHTGrip. Any pros/cons regarding Satin finsh vs Full Polish? Unsure if the full polish sets are worth the added cost.

I like Wright's satin finish - much smoother than craftsman RP. As far as what is better, guess that is personal choice. Some say that satin wrenches are not a slippery as polished ones, but I am hard-pressed to tell them different.

Satin is usually harder to clean than chrome, which I have not had a problem with it. For me, I got satin cause it was different than the normal chrome, and maybe reminded me of my dad's old CM raised wrenches. Minus the looks and cleaning, they are the same wrenches.

Get one set of each! The satin finish is very nice but I love the chrome Wrightgrips. They are great to use and the finish holds up well. I've skimmed them on the driveway and dropped them on concrete and they look just like the day I bought them. Plus you can hold all the chrome ones in your arms and feel like this:

Also if you're someone who would be bothered by fingerprints on your chrome wrenches, you might also be bothered by variations in the finish on the satin wrenches. I've got 16 of them and 3 of them have slightly different finish than the rest. One is a little bit duller than the others and 2 are a bit shinier. When you take a "family photo" it stands out. I don't know if others have that but that's how my satin WG are.

Well my plan was to get one set of each. The chrome is just soooo pretty though after I got metric chrome I went sae chrome too.

Man you guys are killing me. I was planning on taking a tool buying breather for awhile this year before getting the WrightGrips. Now you have my addiction rearing it's ugly head again.

I've only had two instances of impossible (except for an open end) to remove nuts or bolts in my life but I want to be prepared for the future.

And I was going to get the metric in satin and the sae in chrome. Now you all have me re-thinking that. Decisions, Decisions.

They are a great step up from raised panels. I love them and proudly use them along with my Snap On tools.

It is totally a personal preference, I got the full polished ones so they were easier to clean. I may end up getting the satin set in SAE for my job box, but only because they offer large sizes in satin versus the limited sizes in polished.

My brother has a set of satin wright grips in metric and even though I'm good on wrenches I still want a set of these.

A few people complained about the open ends being rounded too much, other than that I don't think anyone has had any major complaints. I am sure there have been some finish issues, but Wright handles things well. I have them as my mid length wrenches, I wish they would make some extra long ones, I would sell my Snap On wrenches!

The wrightgrips are nice wrenches. I have metric full polished and a small collection of satin SAE.
The only issues I have with the wrightgrip is that their boxed ends don't seem to be bent at the same angle across all sizes but, that's just me.

I own both metric and sae in full polish. Great wrenches. The open end doesn't grip as well as SO FD+, however on non-rusted fasteners, the wrenches definitely don't slip.

I have an SAE set in satin. 3/8"-1", that I got in a pawnshop for $30 last summer. Absolutely love them, and would put them up against my Snap-On's every day.

I use both WG, in satin and full polish weekly. The satin's grip better when wet or covered in fluids, but they don't wipe down as effortlessly as the polished. Both are the same wrench with different finishes. When compared the any of the craftsman wrenches the WG wrenches are miles ahead when it come to comfort! I can comfortably pull on the wg's a lot harder than I can comfortably pull on the c'mans.

The full polished WG wrench is a thing of beauty I must say. Now the satin is just a plain get'r done workhorse, that offers slightly more "tactability" than the chrome but at the expense of beauty and ease of cleaning. Who needs a pretty wrench anyways??? Hehehe.....i find myself reaching for the WG over my **** errr I mean Mac knuckle saver's everytime I open my box, and they lay beside eachother.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I picked up a new 14 pc Wright Grip satin finish 3/8" - 1-1/4" off eBay. Think maybe the set is NOS, had a Wright part # s1306 and came in a clear plastic bag. A search on Wright's website and Google for s1306 produced no results. Not sure what if any differences are between the s1306 and current # 714 set other than the denim tool roll. Paid $121 minus a $5 ebay bucks cedit for total $116, not sure but think that was maybe an OK price.

I can't even tell which is Satin and which is Chrome. My eyes are telling me the one on the right is Satin, whereas the one on the left is Chrome. Am I right?
