WrightGrip wrenches

I am looking into adding a number of large sized combination wrenches (above 1" & 22mm) to my arsenal and was about set on Armstrong until I read all those raves about WrightGrip. I have never seen or heard about Wright until now and thanks to all of you, I am leaning toward them. :D

My biggest question is what sizes their WrightGrip are currently available in. I want combination type wrenches with satin finish for better grip. Reading from the past threads, it sounds like they were available up to 1 1/4" and 24mm. I was hoping to see them available in even larger sizes so I gave Wright Tools a call. The lady told me that the WrightGrip are currently available from 5/16" up to 2 3/4" and also from 7mm to 80mm with the exemption of 29mm. I was a bit surprised to hear that and asked her again just to make sure she understood what I was asking and she patiently told me yes.

Can anyone confirm that this is true?? I am yet to see those larger wrenches with WrightGrip on the internet.

I should clarify that I also am looking into getting them in smaller sizes as a second set next to my primary set of Snap-on Flake Drive (not plus).

And no, I'm not looking into getting really HUGE sizes like 2 3/4" or 80mm  Probably up to something like 1 1/2" and 32mm. Who know, I might even want to get them in sizes up to 2" and 41mm. :bounce:

I got to say this kind of stuff drives me nuts. You got an answer from the professional and now you go to a bunch of internet slapdicks to confirm????

I deal with it all the time at my work with people fishing for the answer they want. If the person that works there tells you that they make something and I tell you they don't, who are you going to believe?

Just because I contacted the customer service of a product that I am inquiring about does not mean that they are always knowledgeable or know exactly what I am talking about. I think it is safe to say that in this real world most of customer service reps are clueless or know only a little about the products their companies are selling. Heck, even a knowledgeable rep can make a honest mistake. There has been too many instances when I based my decision coming from just one person and then turn out he/she is wrong. Sometime I'd call the same company again, ask another customer rep and get a different answer. Think about it ... if you went to see a doctor that you are unfamiliar with and was told that you need a surgery ... would you try to get a second opinion to see if you get the same answer? If you get two different answers then something likely is not right.

The reason I am asking here is because I have not found any "hard" evidence to show/prove that the representative is correct. I mean, I don't want to order bunch of tools and only to find out that they came in differently than as expected ... and at my expense. I just am simply doing my homework first before I bite.

What hard evidence do you need? You ask "Do you have an 1 1/2" Wright Grip combination wrench?" The cs rep says "Yes, it is p/n bla bla bla" You sa "I'll take it".

Transaction done, no need to shop for the answer you want.

I've got a 2 1/2" wright wrench here at the store with "wrightgrip", so I think the customer service rep was correct. Most companies that sell wright probably have a mixed stock (like we do) so I might call first before ordering.

I wasn't trying to be a ****, but I've dealt with people where you talk to them then 5 minutes later you talk to them again they ask the same question but aren't smart enough to know they are talking to the same person. You have to tell them "It still fits."
