Wright's Hex Bits, how are they compared to other Brands?

How are Wright Hex Bits compared to other Brands? Does the bit have the tendency to strip (or separate) from the actual socket its fitted in? I hear VIM and Proto Impacts gets the win in this category. Would like some feedback on this, thanks!

I don't like theWright's. They are a stepped design so you need extra insert bits in case you break one. the inserts also seem brittle to me.

I like the Snap On because the hex bit is the same the entire length so you can easily replace it by taking a regular L key, cutting it and using the bit as a replacement. Bonney hex sockets are the same as Snappy.

Thank you Bob, the fact that the hex bit is end-user replaceable is what sells me.

No experience with the wrights but I've eyed the bondhus sets and just picked up the proto 7 piece SAE set from Amazon.ca for under $30. Deal was too good to pass up.

Bondhus seems to have a decent set I keep eyeing. They also sell just the inserts so you can use whichever brand or drive size socket you want. I've been using bondhus hex keys for a few years now with no complaint.

I own craftsman, sk and Mac. I'd rate them mac, craftsman, sk. The mac are strong and the bits stay in the sockets but the socket is uniform from top to bottom so if the bolt is close to something it may contact at an angle. The craftsman ones taper towards the tip and also haven't come out, but I have twisted them. The sk has the broadest size for the set, but the smaller ones are press fit into the tapered socket and I've pulled many out and head to epoxy them in. After that they didn't move. The larger ones are pined, I wish they all were, that set would be perfect. Hope this helps if you consider other brands.
