Wrinkle Paint Care

I have a Kennedy mid-chest and a Waterloo roll-cab both in brown wrinkle.

They are not beat up, but the paint looks dingy.

I wipe them down with oil, and the look great, but collect dust.

What do you guys use to clean and treat brown wrinkle paint?

From an older thread, WD40 and a nylon brush? Have yet to try it on mine though.

Cleaning Kennedy Brown Crinkle Paint

Always wanted a Kennedy K32 carpenters tool box. IDK why...I guess to keep carpentry tools in? Anyhow, picked up a nice, straight one at a garage sale for $10, but it's absolutely filthy on the outside. Any ideas on how best to clean all the grunge out of the crinkle finish paint? I'm thinking...

I bought a Kennedy rolling tool box at auction once to flip. I cleaned it up with WD-40 and it turned out nice.

I have two journeyman top boxes and two middle boxes. Kennedy’s website says to use WD-40.

After I clean them off with a rag soaked in WD-40, I use a microfiber cloth repeatedly to cut down the residue enough that dust does not stick. Basically, after I wipe it off the first time… I wipe it off a few more times… then wait a while, and wipe them down again.

I am super picky about what I buy, so, I start out with boxes in really nice condition and make them look nicer… NO PROJECTS! I

I haven’t found a Kennedy roller cabinet in the condition I want and at the price I want. Another rule of mine, other than NO PROJECTS: no more roller cabinets with bulk storage on the bottom. Drawers all the way down from here on out… so I have one set of Kennedys on my double bay and one set of Kennedys on a restaurant stainless prep table.
