I've been looking for a new or nice condition 24" long breaker bar. It will be my first "tool truck brand" purchase. Craftsman has been my standard so far, but they don't make anything bigger than 18" I believe.

if it doesn't HAVE to be truck brand check out toptul they have 24 and more.

if you want something local the advanced auto in my area has gear wrench branded ones which seem quite nice as well.

I picked up a HF 25" breaker bar on sale for $10 a while back, with the intention of replacing it with a nicer pawn shop/garage sale/swap meet find, but so far I am still using the HF one.

I've been to harbor freight, and I actually was thinking about grabbing their 24" breaker, but I had no money left. I had already picked up too much other ****. I fell into the ole' HF trap. The design of the HF breaker bar intrigues me, it is opposite from every other bar out there. Instead of the driver being held by a pin between the two forks on the end like most, the driver is split, with the handle inserted into it. Kinda odd I thought. My local auto parts stores don't carry much as far as tools go. I'll have to check my Napa though, they might have something. Thanks for the advice fellas.

If you have a Tractor Supply store nearby, they have a decent looking 24" 1/2" drive breaker for ~$23 (taiwan made I think). I *almost* bought one then found a good deal on a Wright 24" bar from another board member. Cost a little more but it's a NICE breaker.

Or, like Terabyte mentioned, Toptul has some NICE looking breakers for good prices.

I don't know how much you wanted to spend but ebay has some snapon/matco/Proto breaker bars in the $30-$60 "buy it now" price range; check 'em out here:

I personally recommend the Snapon Breaker Bar, 24"
Stock#: SN24C; I bought mine at the flea market for $30; this is one tool that Snapon really excels at and really is a beautiful tool; they just don't break very often (if ever) and are a real pleasure/joy to use! Get one; you won't regret it! :) Don't buy new; get used! High quality tools at cheap prices; the ultimate combination! :)
