Evening guys, new guy here.
I`m looking for a craftsman 3/8 tee ratchet from the `60 `s.
I have (I believe a 1940) Snap-on 1/2 in drive 71-10 ratchet, and a B-52 to trade.

Thanks,
John

A WHAT? :headscrat

They sell on E-bay for $125, so it may take more than a couple Snap-Ons to pry one loose.

I am totally impressed that you know what he is talking about. I rarely get lost in a tool thread, but he just did it. No idea what he wants! :wtf:

What does this look like? Do you have a pic?

Please, I am very curious what the heck you two are speaking of!

Assuming you're talking about the speeder ratchet - here's a link to one that recently ended on Fleabay - IMHO an insane amount of money for a ratchet that shows up fairly regularly. Another ended 7 days later with a reserve set and a BIN of about the same amount - didn't sell.

As soon as I saw your post I knew immediatly what was being discussed. I opened the link. Man, I would love to have one of those, but I would never pay that kind of money for one of those. IMHO only an idiot would pay that kind of money for that old ratchet. But then, that's just me!

BTW: Thanks for clarifying what he was looking for.

No, that's you and me both - I was about to call it a PT Barnum ratchet, but discovered that ol' PT didn't actually utter the infamous quote that's been (wrongly) credited to him - and nobody'd know why the !@#! I was calling it a Hannum ratchet....

I have one that my f-i-l gave me. He said he hadn't used it in years and "here, you take it, maybe you'll use it." I immediately used it to pull spark plugs, said cool and parked it in the toolbox where it's sat for, ummm, almost 6 years now. :bounce:

Not going to sell or trade it though... :pimpflash

Other than the novelty, why would you want one? The action is pretty clunky and the red lube of love would all run out in between uses....

Wow, rough crowd! I agree I`d never pay what the guys on flea-bay want. I had a neighbor years ago that used one regularly, I used it occasionally, now that the kids are almost grown I`m starting my tool collection again.

I expected it to be pricey, but not made of gold.
If anyone has one or knows of one, let me know please.

Thanks for the help guys,
John
