Hi,
I'm looking for a decent toolbox preferably w/o top chest (so I can use it as a work bench). But this isn't a 'MUST'.
A 2-bay type in the 40-50" range would be my favorite. Age isn't that important as long as it is in decent shape. Should have smooth running ball bearing drawers and the caster should also be fine. Keys / Locks don't matter too much since I'll use it only for my home projects.
Quality wise it must be high level (I'm picky).
I'm not interested in any China made Waterloos or Craftsman boxes, since I'm already too familiar with this quality level and don't like it. Had a Waterloo Magnum (= Craftsman pro) and paint was chipping of everywhere without reason, the 2-layer sheet metal where the side handles of the box are mounted start to separate and the casters were el-cheapo.
The only reasonable Chinese made box I saw so far is the often mentioned HF box, but I missed the 20% coupon. Maybe the Toptul carts are good as well but shipping is
and I haven't seen any reviews about them so far (I don't blame Mike for the shipping, since this stuff is damn heavy and I'm on the other side of the country).
My price cap is about $ 600 (maybe a bit higher for a outstanding box).
Box should be located in MI, Detroit area, so I can avoid shipping costs.
Please leave a PM if you have something interesting
