I'm looking for a big old American made vise from the early to mid 1900's, in decent condition.
By big, I'm looking for something in the 100-300lb range. Maybe even a couple of them.
The brands I'm looking at are Prentiss, Athol, Starrett, Rock Island, Reed, Parker, and to some extent Wilton bullets, Columbian and Yost. (I rarely see Record vises for sale, and I'm not sure they make them as big as I'd want.)
4" jaws minimum, prefer 6"+ jaws.
I was not sure what to put for the price, so if you can email me with pics and/or model number, please include your offer. I'd like to base my offer on going prices on this and other forums.
I'm willing to drive a fair ways to get it, so if you are within say a 300 mile radius of Washington DC, then I would consider driving that far if the vise and price were nice.
Condition: I prefer no repairs or cracks, but chipped paint and surface rust are fine if they don't interfere with making it work. I don't want a multi year project trying to piece parts together, but I don't need a garage queen either.
