How deep is deep? Like deeper than a regular spark plug socket?

Hmmm. Sounds like it's gonna be a Snap On as I'm not sure other manufacturers make a deeper than deep spark plug socket.

I bought the Mac one years back (I believe they also sell a 10" plug socket). I also have a Great neck, I bought for a buck for the home box. As mentioned, several people sell them, I just think the Snap-on one is a fail here. It doesn't have the hex end that allows one to use with a Gearwrench, or other socket.

And that much extra arn is a good thing to have why? I usually have a difficult time working a standard plug socket on an extension and a universal in there.

When I was at the shop, MF vans and commercial vehicles. Pull off the doghouse, and the spark plug socket would just stick out past the heat shields. Then I would normally use one of two ratchets, depending on the situation. The oddest looking combo, was the long spark plug socket, with the 3/8" ratchet, in the 1/4" body.

That's interesting, I was doing that last weekend and borrowed one for the same purpose. I hate borrowing tools. If I borrow it, I buy one. Because at some point I'll need it again.

In the end I had to pull off one of the heat heatshields anyway...sigh

On the other hand I may never use one again but I'm still saddled with that "want".
