WTB: quality SAE wrench set

I am looking for a good fractional/SAE combination wrench set.

*Long pattern - this is as long as a regular Snap-On set, or pretty much any other brand's "long" design. This is a must!

*Sizes from 1/4" to 1" is ideal, but I would consider sets that start at 3/8" and go up to 7/8" or 1-1/4"

*A polished finish would be ideal

*Used condition is fine, but not abused or engraved

*A storage roll or pouch would be nice too, but definitely not a deal-breaker

I am looking for any of the high-quality brands, including Snap-On, Matco, Mac, S-K, Armstrong, Wright, Williams, Craftsman Professional, Blackhawk, etc. I would be all over the GearWrench brand non-ratcheting long patterns, but I want something USA made.

Finally, the price must be $100 or less.

Let me know what you have!

-Dave

I have a set of S-K combo wrenches from (I think) 1/4" to 1". I think 13 sizes total. They are the C-** series Raised panel style, not new ones. Very lightly used, if at all. I can post a picture later this evening if you want. All are S-K, but smallest is marked S-K Tools, if I recall correctly.

I'd let them go for $125 shipped, by Priority Mail flat rate box.

I know it is over your limit, but I can't go any lower on them. Too good of a set to give away.

Edit: Uploaded pictures of the set.

Not even a reply or offer on my set? Figures. Off to eBay, I suppose.

What do you mean by "figures"? You yourself said it was over his limit, "must be $100 or less" and underlined is pretty self explanatory, to me at least. It's not like you offered him some stellar deal and he ignored you.

When I said "figures", I was referring to my luck trying to sell something good at a decent price. I really don't need this set, and could use the cash for something else. If you look at the price, really the offer is only about $10 over his limit, as shipping is included and it would take close to $15 to get them there safely and insured. As far as stellar deal, this set is about as close to never used as it comes. And I went to the trouble to take pictures, also. Not even a reply. I figured maybe he would make an offer.

Sorry to offend you with my wording. I'll go crawl back in my hole elsewhere, I suppose. I love getting trounced by someone when I start posting on a forum, especially when it isn't even their thread. Thank you for setting me straight, Sheriff. You can have your "town" back, everything is Code 4 now.

Thanks for the offer KeyKeeper, I've been busy and found a few minutes to reply.

The set you posted up is an okay deal... competitive with what regularly comes on eBay. I am not interested because the set doesn't meet most of what I said I wanted. It is not the "long pattern" (regular Snap-On length) which is specified in the original post... and the post immediately before yours. They're not polished and do not come with any storage roll. I have some S-K raised panel wrenches. They're quality tools, feel great in your hand, and I am sure you will find a buyer for them.

Your first post offered to put up pictures, I didn't reply, and then you posted them up on your own merit.

To other posters: if I didn't reply in time, sorry... what you put up probably didn't meet what I asked for the in the original post... not that it's not nice stuff, it's just not what I am looking for. But keep posting... maybe someone else will read the thread and contact you to buy your wrenches!

Thanks, -Dave

Thanks for the reply. Just throwing them out there, as I thought it was a pretty good deal, but I've been wrong before.

Just a note for anyone else interested: they are polished, although not as polished as say a new Wright or equivalent (if I photographed them in bright sunlight, you wouldn't be able to see them, and are definitely not of a short pattern type. I'd say they are at least regular pattern by the length to size ratio, if not a long pattern. Of course, I don't know the difference in these nomenclatures, I'll have to look it up. I'm not a mechanic by any means, just a tool aficionado/tinkerer whose tastes have turned to the older, thinner, non-shiny stuff (mainly vlchek)

I'd let them go for $115 shipped Continental US, if anyone else wants a quality set of combo wrenches. I'll be listing them elsewhere, also.
