I do gunsmithing and I am sending my welding out; I would like to be able to do it here. Right now I am waiting on a part that has been out for a month. Any ideas on what to buy and where to buy it? Thank you! Gil Russell

Miller has a good forum.

I have a Miller Dynasty 200 DX and really like it, have one at work too, great machines. Not offering to sell, just recommending you look into them, small but packed full of goodies..

I have a Miller Dynasty 200 SD and really like it. It has a few less features than the DX model but it can do everything that I need to do. It packs a lot of punch in a small package.

Do you only work with steel in gunsmithing? If that is the case look at the Miller Maxstar 150 STH/STL. They are DC only, run off 115 or 220v, around 15lbs and ridiculously small. They run new around 1.5k including everything but the bottle (fingertip amperage control). If you find one used, make sure it's under warranty because the pc boards are expensive if something goes wrong...course of thought for any inverter based box.

The Dynasty is a great machine and can do anything. However, it's expensive and may be more than you would ever need with your gunsmithing. That being said, a TIG rig is a considerable investment and always better to buy into a bit more than you think you'll need because it's much easier to have the needed features already at hand then to add them later on.

Mine is a bit bigger than the Dynasty series, but I like it. It's a Miller Syncrowave 200. I do gunsmithing as a hobby, and it's worked well. I've also done aluminum, etc. with great results too...
