Does anyone know what this is? The letters on the castings are obscured. I bought it for dirt cheap and was going to hang it in my office for a conversation piece, but I want to know what it does.

Is it covered in ink?

No ink, the bottom (or top?) is machined. it looks like it could go around a 4” x 4” post, but to what end? The “clamps” have a limited amount of travel. I haven’t given it much thought but nothing is coming to me.

Might be a jig to trim 4x4's when setting fence posts. Set the posts and then set the clamp and use a circular saw to trim the posts to correct hieght.

Hi there, this is my first post and I think I can shed some light on it, The clamp was use when drilling or otherwise cutting holes in the 4x4 ceramic tile.

I don't think you would use a metal clamp like this on ceramic tiles? Especially since it has long handles which would be lots of clamping pressure.

MY wife's uncle was in the ceramic business and he had one like that with his tile equipment. I will be interested in knowing also as he has passed on and I have that clamp.
