Xado products

Has anybody tried the Xado engine revitalizer? I have never been big on additives and was wondering if it did anything. They say it does "microparticle deposition" to the wear surface where heat and friction occur and build back some of the surface while filling imperfections. My Ranger, 2001 with 262K miles, has just started using oil and eventually a rebuild is in order, but if this helps squeak out more miles with less burnt oil, then it would be worth it. The motor runs great and has good, consistent compression across the four cylinders. They are within about 5-6% of each other. Thanks

Traditionally that's my stance on theses things as well. However, with technology advancing as quickly as it does, I always try to keep an open mind, but still require proof as to the effectivness of a product. I know the contributors on this board can really put a product through it's paces, so I value their feedback.

No such thing as rebuild in a can. It is snake oil by any other name.

Likely as not, using high mileage oil to soften/swell the seals (particularly valve stem seals) will do more than snake oil.

granted most of my stable is toyota but I've always found the valve stem seals to go bad before the rings unless there's a good reason. 88 cressida with 145k and near zero maintenance before I had it, '90 cressida with unknown miles on the engine, pickup with ~250k miles, S10 with 110k (but 25 years)

With the high-mileage oil, how long does it take to see the seals working better? I am just looking to slow this process down, and not do a rebuild.
