I've been using XtremeSet-100 to fill some extensive cracking in basement shop floor. The space is entirely concrete (floor, wall, ceiling). The product has worked well, but the smell/fumes have persisted for months. I'm doing some grinding of the filled areas to prepare for a coating. My grinder has a dust apron and a full separator + vac setup. The griding has massively intensified the chemical smell/fumes.

Any tips on neutralizing? I was thinking some vinegar solution followed by dish soap, but wanted to throw this out there to see if anyone has found something that worked as this product is widely used here.

Did you thin it with anything? Xtreme-Set 100 is 98% solids with very little solvents to evaporate and cause an odor. Are the cracks really deep? The only reason I can think of for the smell is if you applied it extremely thick with not enough sand. It cures very fast. If applied in such a way, the surface would cure and trap the small amount of solvents in it before it had a chance to work its way up through the material to the surface and evaporate. Wiping it down with a solution wouldn't do much. You may want to give Scotty a call at Legacy.

Hmmm. I have personally worked with it for years and it is bright when first used and you may get a whiff while grinding but then it's typically gone. The smell is the actual product. If it persists, I would seal it.

Our biggest user of this product is cold-storage , dry food storage & food service due to the fast-cure. No complaints from this group.

Lastly, after working with all these chemicals for years (30) there is a huge variation in a everyone's awareness and tolerance for polymer smells.
