This one's in bad shape. The only marking I found looks like a small shield.

Cool find. That last one LOOKS like it has a "V" in that shield. So it's probably a Vlchek. They were a very prominent mfr of tools early in the 20th century.

I picked up this Erie vise yesterday for $12.
(Like an idiot, I forgot to take a "before" picture. It was completely painted puke green.. even the handle and the slide was painted)

Nope.. way pukeier than that... lighter and greyer and just awful.
I will say, whatever kind of paint it was, it was stuck on there and hard as a rock. Probably some 50 year old oil base paint from a can... I was bead blasting it and lots of it just didn't want to come off. I finally decided to slather it with some Zip Strip and take most of it off that way.

Nice wrenches. Some Evapo-Rust, a little steel wool will work miracles on them. I have some (Frank) Mossberg tappet wrenches that were just as rusty, if not more so, but they've cleaned up to almost new looking. Will post some pics soon.
