Today i was out and stopped at a garage sale. Guy was selling an old ammo can full of old tools and baubles. After getting home i went to work taking everything out, mostly screwdrivers, found an old pair of snap-on vacuum pliers and an old vintage pair of craftsman pliers.

In addition, i found some curiosities i had never encountered before:

Number two is a tire valve stem tool.

Number four is an alligator clip used for the old two lead flat wire on TV antenna. You could attach the lead wires to the screws on the clip and then clamp the clip to the terminals on the back of the TV. This was pre-HD days.

#1 is a dollar bin circuit tester.

I think the came in 2 or 3 packs. What you picture, a pick and maybe 1 additional style.

#5 is a screwdriver set.

Have one of those valve thread tools, and the multi-blade screwdriver is an old Shelton driver.

the multi-blade screwdriver is an old Shelton driver.

Also known as the Versatool, in three flavors, has its own thread here.

#1 is a spark detector, put it against a spark plug, the handle flashes.
#2 is a tire valve core tool/threader.
#3 is a pocket spark plug tool - the blaxes are to measure your gap, the "notches" adjust your ground electrode.
#4 is a power lead - you clamp it on a battery, the wire to whatever you're powering attaches to the screw terminal on the side.
#5 is a ratcheting multi tool driver - I had one once, pretty cool tool.

Curiosities??? Almost every tool shown is in my tool box. Sometimes I forget that I have been accumulating tools for 50 years and others have not. A 1970's tool box would normally have all these tools. It's like when I brought home a 1965 Triumph TR4a my millennial son asked what those things were on the side of the engine. I told him they were carburetors and a distributor, he just stared at me.
