I scored today.....

This T&B crimper does a mil-spec crimp on solderless terminals. The suggested retail is about $285, street price is around $125.

I picked one up today at a storage lien sale for $1.00 :bounce:

I tried it on some terminals, and it does a 100x better crimp than the plier-type crimpers, and even better than the industrial "double-barrel" crimp you have probably seen.

The wire would break before it would pull out....no joke.

This makes about the 5th time in my life I feel like gloating....;)

YOU ****! My gosh.... I am so SICK of going to garage sales and finding only kids clothes and broken items from the mid 70s that should have been thrown away decades ago....

This place is usually pretty well picked over. They put new stuff out on Fridays, and I have been on vacation this past week, so I got lucky and got there before the toolmongers did...:bounce:

Usually there are just giant piles of Chiwanese wrenches and 1960s electric drills left afterward. And kids clothes. Lots of dishes, nasty furniture, and Ronco appliances, too...:lol_hitti

Well done by my count you have $284 left to spend from your savings what are you going to spend that on?

Chiwanese, that's a new one to me mind if I use it?:lol_hitti

Being that I just spent $800 on a transmission for my pickup, I probably shouldn't have even been shopping for used tools....but it's like a sickness. :)

I think the term "Chiwanese" is in the public domain already....use it as you see fit!

Assuming you are installing the trany yourself, you now have the labour savings to add to your balance.
