The model kits with the cards are from VA Hospitals or Veterans care centers. My dad had several of these kits when he was in the VA Hospital for several weeks. Building models is something you can do while bed ridden for long periods. You were allowed a certain number of models per week and you could take unbuilt kits home if you didn't build all you were entitled to. One of my sons friends brought a bunch of kits home from the Gulf from when he was in the VA hospital over there. The real wood canoe is typical beginner ship models, Lots of stick built small boat models to get you started in fine scale model ship building Dory's ,Row boats of all kinds small run abouts etc. I have a scale Whale boat kit like this the row boat they would chase the whale down in and harpoon from.

I'll clean it up and get a better pic but it says Craftsman right on it.You are the second person to say it looks like something else?Did they all look alike or is it my crappy picture?LOL

I'm thinking Sioux made it for Craftsman. Doesn't have a round knob at the end where the cord goes in ?

More importantly, most likely these kits were donated to HHV.org to distribute to the veterans.

That organization has done a great job helping our vets!
