Not much time today, only went to 3-4 yard sales. Not as rich as the pickings in Massachusetts, when I was there, but still managed to get a VERY few pieces. Anyone recognize the tool box below?

Below is another shot of it, with lid closed:
Yardsale9-10toolbox3.jpg

Six drawers and a flap in front of the lid. Check out the prices listed on top. One in magic marker says "$5.00", yellow sticker says "$3", I paid $2. :bounce:

Contents inside the tool box cost me $2 more! That big crow's foot is a 2.25" Snap On. Long tool with orange screwdriver handle is Mac belt tool. Wood handled Mac screwdriver, Cman sockets, Thorsen USA metric sockets, polished 9/16 SK combo...

Next sale only had one tool: Small Columbian vise, marked "Cleveland, Ohio" and "Made in USA". Price tag $12.

In spite of every technique I tried, I still ended up paying $10.

Below is pic of oddball screwdriver and small older Cman box for 1/4" drive tools...empty.

Screwdriver handle pivots to make T-handle. Nifty. Shaft marked as "Alloy" seems to be in great shape...tip still crisp.

Next sale I asked if they had tools. Lady hands me corded Makita drill and said, "Here. Take it. It don't work." I noticed cord taped in couple places.

May try to fix it...may toss in dumpster? :headscrat

Maybe an old Huot. I see that your lid is a little different than mine in the open position, since mine has an interference fit .

Lump,
I have no idea what that toolbox is, but "You ****"!! $2, for that box!!! I'll say it again, "You ****". Great finds. Why don't I find deals like that?

I'll say sales were weak today. I hit 3 sales that advertised tools and was there when they opened. None had any tools except grass timming shears and a couple screw drivers that were used to mix paint.
My wife is feeling pretty good and we planned on hitting the flea market in Rogers tomorrow but they are talking rain all day.
Great find on your box.

I'd rate the toolbox as a "you ****"! Sorry I can't pass along any wisdom about it though.

The vise rates a "you ****" also! It would look great on the small cabinet I picked up a couple weekends ago.

+1 on the You **** for the vise.

That's the second deal I've seen on here today for sumptin I've been hunting for awhile. I think I'm in a slump.

Oh wait, just saw this on CL "selling the ex's tools...cheap" at a garage sale later today.

Lump, you've done it again!

Maybe you should come visit me, and some of that luck of yours will rub off!:lol_hitti

Say, is that C-man socket box metal? If it is, and you want to part with it, PM me.

Where is Massachusetts were you?

HiYo, Silver! :p

Nice guess...you are exactly right! I was visiting family in "Ware, Massachusetts." I found several nice "tag sales" as they call them up there, one nice little antique "mall" trying to get a start in an old former house up there, and a flea market on Route 47 near Hadley. Got some nice tools, and enjoyed the hunt up in New England.

I'll be making a post soon, of finds over the last three days, plus last weekend in Mass.

Oh yes good ole' western Mass. That's Bull's area. I live south of Worcester. Did you run into any Massholes?:lol_hitti

Yep, we are considered the "hicks" of the state.

Anything west of Worcester, the folks in Boston don't care about. As long as we send our tax money out there to pay for their underground tunnel projects and whatnot. Otherwise, we can have a big glass of shutty for all they care.

That box looks allot like my old MAC box. The only difference I can see is that my box has cast handles that say MAC on the front.

On the hilarious sitcom "King of Queens," the main character use the word "shutty" as a comedic abbreviation for "shut-up" when he is talking to his wife. I've adopted the term.
