Sold my Deckel FP1. Wasn't a huge fan after using it for a while. Handy little machine, but wasn't for me. Buying a pretty loaded up BP. 2HP variable head, power X feed, power knee, 3 axis DRO, power draw bar. All the bells and whistles I have wanted for a while now. If it's going to be a manual mill, might as well have all the goodies.

Picked it up last night. Took about 30 minutes to load it and get it strapped. Rented a hydraulic drop deck trailer for $75. Worth every penny. Pretty easy pickup. The guy replaced it with an older Tree CNC. Ended up getting the mill for $3400. So stoked.

Is that one of those funny "Bridgeports" made by Adcock and Shipley across the pond, or maybe a newer Asian made, Hardinge sold machine? I ask bc it looks good but somethings definitely slightly "off" about it.

Not sure...looks like every other BP that I've seen. It has a sticker from IBM on the back of the turret. Also has a safety switch and a bunch of stuff wired in. I figure out more about it when I get it set and powered up.

Hats off, looks like a really nice machine. I have the same drawbar on my Bridgeport. You will wonder how you got along without one.

I would like to get a power knee for mine as well. Does yours have a provision for a handle or is it just the wheel?

On the knee near the Y axis handle there should be a serial number for the body. If you are interested in knowing how old your mill is. The head may be different, but judging by the badging and insignia on the head, I suspect it is original to the body.

Nice score. Congratulations on the new iron.

It's SN# 249010, so it looks like it was built in 1987.

Edit: Yea I've always thought the power draw bar would be awesome. It's basically everything I could want in a mill besides going to a CNC. There's no handle on the wheel, so it must have come new with the power feed. The handle is big enough to easily move the knee by hand though.

Got it moved in to what I thought it would be it's spot. Not so sure it will stay there now. But, powered it up, tested everything out and it's working great. I've got two Kurt 675s that I got from a buddy that I just need to clean up and rebuild and I'll be ready to roll.

Mid move, the changing of the guard. Wanted to get the Deckel out to right behind the garage door, so it's ready to go when the rigger shows up to move it for the buyer.
