Drives 2 other neighbors also had garage sales on the 5 mile country road that I live on. Plus the church in town also had a rummage sale going on as well and since that is the church I go to when I go was able to put a sign at church saying come on out to the berg rd Garage sales as well. Have been having a garage sale about this time every year so due get some repeat people showing up.

things I have sold on the garage sale that I kinda still wish I had but then what did that money go towards and could I due with out that item now.

Thinking back.

I have a 1992 Honda 300 4x4 ATV that I sold for $2000.00 some money went towards a 84 Honda Big Red 3 Wheeler which then sold and used that money towards the logging ATV which I use all the time it seems like.

1984 Honda Nighthawk 700S. Sold for $800 it needed a carb rebuild due to bad gas. I wanna say I owned this bike 3 different times. First bike I had and loved it. Sold it to my younger brother when I got a 1997 CBR600F3 Rocket in 1999. Got bike from younger brother when he got sick with ALL Leukemia, He needed to be poor for insurance to kick in and pay hospital bills I bought bike back with cash mom and dad bought his truck from him for cash and he put cash in shoe box to save for when he got better but this way he didn't have material assest to claim is how that went. Any way had 2 bikes the rocket and nighthawk, Sold Nighthawk to another buddy who wanted to try out motorcycles and he rode it a few times and parked it. for a year that's when I got it back with bad gas and listed on garage sale for the $800. wish I still had that bike as it was fun to drive and easy to drive as well. But hard to take young kids places on the bike.

I had my Grandpa's Lawn Flight Mower that was a pain to start only had pull start and small cutting deck and miss it a bit but not having to get it started so that's a toss up.

If I have anything else comes to mind thats been sold on the garage sale I'll post it up and the story of it as well for right now that's all I can think of.


Though back in the day's of Thursday-Friday-Saturday sales the Mother-in-law, Sister-in-law and wife all tract who sold the most each day as a good nature comatation. I only had like 5 things on the sale but I won 2 out of the 3 day's course when your items sell for $2000.00 Honda ATV 4x4 and then the next day the Honda NightHawk for $800 you win both those days.

the Mother-in-law was not happy as she was in the lead at like $400 till my item sold in the late afternoon then I was way out in the lead.

Not on purpose but I may Boil the sap down just a wee bit thicker than its suppose to be and then you get the rock candy that forms in the bottom of the jar or pot. The sap sat in the pot in in the fridge for a few weeks and had the rock candy on the bottom. there was about a palm size chunk of the rock candy that I had It didn't last long but it tasted great!

its gonna stay on the wall and hang out for now. If I find something I really want and can afford and may try and trade the bed frame towards it and add cash on my end as well. say you have $700 item I'll offer you $500 in cash and then $350 dollar bed frame for your item?

I kinda shocked the bed frame has not sold we have had it on the Garage sale for 3 years and no takers. The other 2 log bed frames both sold the same year they got listed on garage sale and this frame has way more character then those did. At 1 time each kid had a single log bed frame but then they each wanted queen size beds so the single bed frames got sold and then got there queen size bed but no frame just the bed as Log Queen bed frames are pricey pricey.

So upgrading the pig living quarters. Have this gazebo that I got tin put on for the roof. How much bracing should I add for snow load for the winter? I'm think at least center post for each side then a middle 2x6 from center post to post help carry snow load. I won't have pigs in there over the winter but don't want the roof to collapse on me that I have to rebuild it either.

If it were me and I lived in your area that could get a foot or two of snow on it I’d double up the supports on each side and maybe put an extra 2x6 in the middle of each gap that looks like it’s 24 inch so end result would be 12 inch gaps.

Are your current supports 2 2x4’s both across the gaps and on the ends? Or 2x6’s? You could probably get away with current supports if you make sure to remove as much snow as possible after the big dumps.

Thanks Drives. The metal braces are 16" on center I think they should be fine it the span of 8' on the 2 ends that carry that weight to the post. I think I'm gonna brace the ends that carry the weight and then a 2x6 in the middle as well. I'll post pic when I'm done. If that makes sense

Suppose to have a storm tonight so shop time means hood back on the 140 and working headlights. Some phone wire to hold headlight in place.

My be splitting wood till it's dark need working headlights to get splitter back in shed.

Just in time projects get done do that they can be put to use for other projects anybody else have projects like that or is it just me?

so I must be the only one! Well Im pretty sure Xtremek is on this Just in Time project get it done so you can use it for the next project path that I seem to find my self on.

I usually about 3-6 months behind it seems like. But the wood shed is 1/2 full which normally this time of year its pretty much empty so I maybe just might be gaining ground on something?

Don't think there gonna be able to move it. It's all tied together and gonna be heavy. Plus I think gonna line the inside with pavers so they can't root into the dirt inside they can outside in the pen but not in the living quarters per say.

Or gonna try that and find out.

Got tin on the 2nd wall as well cept for the last sheet ran out of daylight.


seems to be getting a bit more sturdy when I get the walls put on and the tin on it really stiffens things up it dont flex near as much as when I had just got the roof on and it would shake pretty good now with 2 walls braced and on its pretty rock solid.

Got to revamp the Center Pole on the last open side then put in a door and half wall. But will have to pull out the calf pen before I due that so that's gonna be a day long day to get that done. Pull out calf pen and get it closed in enough to keep them inside the pen when i want them there.

Hoping for good weather next Saturday and i can get it done in a day or workable enough.

plus I can stage up boards and stuff this week and have them ready to put on and not have to be finding them in my free to use pile of misc boards. Its not excatly sorted and stacked at all just all tossed on some telephone poles to keep the wood up off the ground.20250504_155540.jpg

The charger looks a bit younger too!!

Your sons have really grown since we started chatting a decade or so ago too!!

Pigs are some of the smartest animals on the planet just wish they didn’t taste so good. Now crows might be even smarter but I bet they taste like **** otherwise they wouldn’t be filling up my skies here.
