Its not much but it is what I have.
be gentle

just a 24 x 26 and the only thing New on it is the roof everything else is used.

the walls started out as a 20x20 garage I disassembled and loaded onto a trailer and hauled out one wall at a time they leaned against a tree for 3 years before I got around to refurbish them into the walls of this garage.
I cut 1 wall in half and added each part to the other walls.

this is the first Pic I have of it.
and how she stood for the first winter in SW Wisconsin.

That's a nice sized space. It is always cool to see things reused and repurposed rather than end up as a big bonfire. It looks like it might be tough to heat though :)

Re: Yea Old Garage

this is adding some decoration to the garage and also providing a 2 useful purpose's,

l little rock wall to provide a wildland fire break and back filled with dirt to help hold the gravel in the garge and not have it spill out into the yard.

I have boards buried down there to help keep the gravel and the dirt from mixing together they wont last for ever but will help out for a few years.

The garage wall sits on treated 4x4 that rest on pillow blocks poured around 4x6 post. good or bad its what I got.

Pics are of the Back corner wall and the front corner with the ATV with rock moving bucket 1 rock at a time.

Re: Yea Old Garage

This summer work progress was.

Wife made comment she didn't like the old white siding that had the paint falling off.

so off that siding came. The old tonged and groove boards under the siding got a coat of stuff to help with ant intrusion and rot prevention and where the boards where missing they got replaced.

Re: Yea Old Garage

Inside and outside Pics of the rough window opening.

windows are from a friends dad house who got all new windows cause these leaked air a lot but there are good enough for me for this for now.

took me roughly 1 day to put a window in had to cut out stud here or there and sister up the next stud over and build a nice header to help support the upper sill plate.

Re: Yea Old Garage

got 2 windows in and some tar paper siding up as well then took time off to have a nice little campfire with the kids.

I want to put siding on like what I have on the back of the garage but that wont be in the budget for this year so I hoping the tar paper siding will hold up this winter for the 2 side walls of the garage.

the very back opening is for the AC unit that I have in storage.

Re: Yea Old Garage

Thanks the pic of the car next to the house had to rock it to get out of that spot

Was stuck right there

I wonder what it was like to try and drive muscle cars in the winter?

I had to tend to other business yesterday and was torn away from your posts. I'm looking forward to more pics.

And your view is very nice, along with your clone R/T.

Re: Yea Old Garage

Recycling materials requires on site engineering to make everything work.
But the cost is minimal at the end so that is better for your wallet.
Keep posting yiur progress.

yea it takes a lot more work to make things come together with used stuff but you can't be the pricing If I had to buy all of this new Id probably have just a shell frame so far due to lack of $$$$

it was a trade off I was working on shoring up her free/used garden shed and she put a coat of stain on the garage.

Garden shed Pic,

had to run new 4x4 all around outside edge and build an entry ramp that folds up and becomes the door.

Also started the winter prep got the atv snow plows down from there summer storage loft. I'm a member of a county tech rescue team and a little knowledge about ropes and pulleys makes this work pretty smooth

I have 2 of these that came with the farm. I never hooked them up as the chimney was shot and I removed it. I had creosote leaking out of the upstairs wall on to the floor. Mine have a fan built in that blows heat into the room. This comming week you will be able to test yours. Burr...
