I figured a yellow thread would start at some point lol. I'm moving my sons' sets into a separate cart this weekend so I'll snap some of the yellow set then. it's by no means what I think is complete but it's a good start.

Too the boys at the snap on company please take note:

Seems to be a big seller those plastic hard handle tools in different colors maybe you should bring them back.
For all us color blind people no rush!

Sincerely,

Men who love all tools

Well, I decided to move whatever of the boys' tools I had in the shop over to their cart. This is most of the yellow stuff I have here currently for our oldest boy and I have a few other bits and pieces enroute. Still have a few ratchets to do handle swaps on as well. Not too shabby for a 2 year old!

Geez I had to do a little search to find the yellow **** section! It's a small group here. I will post some more tomorrow. I guess we're an elite club. Here are some of mine. I have had them for 20 some years.

You guys are holding out on me! What donor tool are you using to make a 1/4 hard handle ratchet?

I feel like a cheating *****. That's one of the yellow handles I bought off eBay on a 120xp 1/4" flex. Those are great ratchets btw.

Here is a rare model. It holds a saws all blade. I have used often.

These are my old file handles that I repurposed on Gearwrench swivel heads. 1/4" and 3/8, both good tools.

This 1/2" monstrosity is a nasty Harbor freight swivel ratchet, I kind of feel bad that I made this

I have a few more file handles left here too. I may repurpose them for something else or I might just leave them as file handles. I have one here that would be a perfect fit on a Gearwrench 120 XP 3/8 flex head so at least I can have a matched pair. I will most likely do that soon. I have been watching some older dual 80 ratchets with black and orange handles that I hope to change out someday too. I'm not sure I need so many ratchets but I think I'm preaching to the choir here on GJ LOL.

Her some close-ups of the screwdriver drawer. I have a pretty rare collection of yellow picks in both full-size and minis. I'm missing a couple of yellow handle mini's. one is a straight pick and the other a Philips. Always on the look out.

The 1/4 inch bits in the very back our actual snap on metric hex that I use a lot. The foam organizer was custom-made for me by foam fit tools. I had to scan everything and then send measurements along with the scans so so he could load them into his CAD software. And he just cut them out with a CNC router. $40 shipped. The design is already done so if you guys ordered one there would be no up charge. He could stretch it to fit any size toolbox drawer you had. I wish I had Yellow Torx in regular and mini. I keep bidding on them when they pop up but there rare.

Well, I've joined the club. Sorta.
I picked up my first yellow SO at a yard sale this morning. A 4" screwdriver. I paid a whooping $1.25.
The print is hard to read (battered and the ink is gone). But the side facing up has the embossed SnapOn logo and "USA" centered underneath. No model number on this one.

The other side has the standard "this is not a prybar, etc." imprint, but it's in the same unreadable condition as the logo. Pictures are "as found" and after a good cleanup.

A little over 3 months and I've added number 2 to my screwdriver drawer.
A SDD1 stubby in great condition.
It was found at an "it's all FREE" sale this morning.

lol thanks (I think!). I just hope he appreciates nice tools and the things they can fix when he gets older.

I set up both of my sons with basic tools.

#1 son not really appreciative, probably hasnt touched them in over 5 years

#2 son wont buy new until he takes whatever it is apart and either fixes it or finishes breaking it.

good luck

My plan is to see which way they go before they even know the tools are for them. If one (or both) of them shows the interest and I feel they'll appreciate and benefit from having a nice set of tools, they'll get the tools along with a nice toolbox or cart when I feel the time is right. If either (or both) don’t show the interest, they don't get the tools and I'll just sell them off (I figure new hard handle snap on will be worth at least double what I have into them in 15 or so years). I'll then use the money to buy them something they need.
