Well boys,
Here is the latest grab from my town's metal dumpster (hamilton, nj) for those that need to know. The hand brace is unmarked other than "GERMANY" on the upper shaft beneath the top handle. The short shovel is dirty but otherwise in excellent condition. The wood is great. I can't believe what people will just throw away. I wish that I could find a manufacturer's name on the brace but oh well.

Not bad at all, Its true, "one mans trash", well you know the rest.
Those half shovels are handy as hell sometimes.
Nice score!

Nice! I had a hell of a time finding a half shovel with a stamped steel handle loop. All you can find these days are plastic ones. I guess I should have been looking in dumpsters instead! :)

Nice brace! If you don't have a use for it, lemme know.
I'm looking for one specifically to put a metal countersink bit into the end. It's a great method for quickly deburring drill holes in steel-Just put the pad on your hip or gut, hold the part tight against the countersink with one hand, crank with the other.

Of course, now that I've told you that... :)
