Yet Another Garage Layout Question

We're in the design phase of our new house and garage, so I thought that it would be valuable for y'all to have a look at my basic layout and see if you see any glaring issues. I will have a ton of details to work through, but want to start with a solid basic plan. The structure will be ~60' X 40', with the 12' section on the right side as guest quarters, which leaves me with 48' X 40'. I would love for it to be larger, but I am trying to maintain a budget, so that will be about it for size.

This will be stick-built to match the Craftsman design and structure of the house. My goal is to have a nice area to park my cars that will not be contaminated by grinding dust, paint, etc from the 'working side of the garage. I'm planning on 12' ceilings to accommodate my four post lift, as well as potentially a two post in the future. A 16' roll up door will be between the clean and working side of the garage, along with another 16' door on the rear side, along with a paved area behind that. I have thought about a wall between the two center bays so that I could do detailing, brake work, etc on one side, but I'm not in love with that idea.

What say ye, GarageJournalists?

What do you plan on working with on the wood shop? Will the pedestrian doors be too small?

I like the shop within a shop idea. For the bathroom, do you plan on a laundry tub anywhere in teh working shops? I would hate to open the door and have to close to door to get to the sink, when there is what appears to be a bidet right as you walk in the door from the garage to the bathroom. A sink of laundry tub to the left of the bathroom would be easy to add and very useful, unless you already had this planned. (same with one in the auto shop as well)

Only thing I'd suggest is making two of the four front garage doors into a single extra-wide door. You just never know how or when it will come in handy, but you'll be glad you had a wide door sometime in the future. And it makes one less door to install and open/close on a daily basis.

btw, I'm not too far from you, just one county over. What trade are you in? I ask because that's quite a collection of auto's in your sig.

Thanks. I do plan on a laundry sink as well as our old stacked washer and dryer outside of the bathroom, though I might need to move that to an exterior wall to vent the dryer. A four ft double door on the wood shop sounds like a good idea. Oh, that's a urinal, not a bidet!

I agree that a 16' door is much better than two 8' doors, but these spots won't be used for our daily drivers, so I'm probably going to opt for looks over function. I work in the oil industry.

Another thing that I'm thinking about doing is sliding barn style doors in place of the overhead door between the clean and working side.
