Afternoon, guys and gals!

Long time member, first time poster. I'm building a 40x60 shop and am looking for lighting. I've moved past analysis paralysis and have moved into an analysis coma. I am considering the following:

Sams Club Honeywell (This is the best choice for me since they are local and a return is easy)
Ordering the Feits from Costco when and if they go on sale
USGL 4 footer on Amazon
and finally, a new-design Feit I found on their website, part number 73991.

I was about to pull the trigger on the Honeywells at Sams but today I ran across this:

https://jet.com/product/Feit-Electr...t-Quantity-4/43b9ce194b734665ad6b9fbd6f8b20d5

....on Jet.com. I haven't seen this mentioned on GJ or anywhere else as a cheaper lighting solution but it seems almost too good to be true. I have an email in to Jet.com asking if this is indeed four individual Feit 73991s or if it's just a single. Anyone ordered these before and have any ideas?

Thanks guys,
Hunter

I guess I could have said that. I want to hang the lights at 12 ft from floor level. I can do 10 if it makes a big difference from 12' down to 10'.

Don't ask.
I just ordered 10 of the Honeywells from Sam's club for $300 with free shipping.

I've had a dozen of the Lights of America brand for about 2 years.
They light up my 30x60 x12ft to what I would consider a normal room lighting level and I still have open rafters (no ceiling yet).

I think that's the route I am going to go. I talked to Jet.com on the phone yesterday and they confirmed that the Feits are a single pack so no deal on that. I am lighting a 40x40 and planning to put 15 in there, hung to 12 feet.

Not sure if you all have checked out the Best Light Fixture sticky. I just ordered 5 of the fixture/tube combos recommended in the first post. The total cost from Bees Lighting was $124. One week from order to delivery.

LEDs are separate from the fixture, so when one fails, I will be able to replace a $9 LED tube instead of the entire fixture.

I missed that in that thread. I read it but I guess I forgot the bang for the buck part.

Are you happy with your setup? Sounds like it maybe the way to go for me. The total in my shopping cart is $486 shipped. That's a better price than anywhere else I've found for 15 fixtures/30 tubes.

My first batch of 5 fixtures / 10 tubes is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Will take a few weeks to get them mounted and wired. Will report back once they are up and functioning.

I built my 42 x 36 garage in 1999. I hung new 4ft T-12 fluorescent lights and was happy with them over the years. As the years passed I replaced burned out bulbs every so often figuring that was the normal thing to do. When the units started wearing out I began replacing them one at a time. Recently I began reading about LED fixtures. Well I bit the bullet yesterday and replaced all seven fluorescent units on the side of the garage where I restore cars. I cannot believe the how much brighter the garage is with the LED lights. I bought the LED 4 ft fixtures at Menards for $21.97 each plus tax. I recommend the LED fixtures to anyone who is finally wearing out their old fluorescent lights. You will not be sorry you changed over to LED.

Sounds great! I'm pretty sure this is the route I will go. I need 15 fixtures, but it's still under $500!

Im probably too late with my post but here what I used (pic). No cords or chains to deal with, clean and simple. Just thread into a regular lamp base. 4400 lumens. Got them at TSC. Come on sale for 49$ each. 6 of them light up my 1600 sq ft shop fine. BCD.

Do you have any pictures with the space lighted at night?

I have a slightly oversized double-car garage with the dimensions of 20-feet wide by 30-feet deep. I recently installed nine each of the Feit LED lights from Costco. What a huge difference in task lighting! Because my garage is attached to the house, I wired three duplex receptacles (every other joist) from the existing light switch in the kitchen. Because the Feit lights are linkable, I have instant on, instant off from the kitchen switch.
