I'm in the market for a 4 post lift and need for it to be able to safely lift my CrewCab Diesel Dually . I'm Considering the Bendpak HD-14X but am open to other suggestions. This will be for my personal use and not used commercially but I would think overkill would be a good thing here.

Any suggestions/experiences are appreciated.

The shop I built is primarily for my son with special needs. (We have a trampoline in it, a swing from the ceiling and hopefully more soon)

My wife would like to see me get a lift if we can afford it and I want to get it right.

I was looking at their 9000 lb truck model but I'll have to call them regarding pricing as they don't seem to list it on their site.. Thanks!

I just installed a BendPak HD9 9000 lb 4 post. That should work fine for you. You will need both 220 volt AC plus air for the release locks.

I bought a Direct Lift ProPark 9 Plus becuase it is big enough for my '99 F250 SD ext cab & the runways are also narrow enough for my MG or Alfa Romeo.

I was considering the "9" series of lifts as well but was concerned about the dually fenders as well as the tow mirrors. The mirrors will fold in but it still has the large door mounting brackets. Maybe the XW but then you might be able to score a deal on a slightly larger lift for close to the same $$'s??

Maybe they'll be a geat CyberMonday Sale on them today...:rocker:

Well I didn't get a ton of responses here because I'm pretty sure this topic has been beatin to death but I wound up gooing with a Bendpak HD-14 for a deal I couldn't refuse.:rocker:

I figured a little overkill wouldn't hurt.:3gears:

If I can figure out how to post pics I'll show the install and let everyone know my thoughts.

I couldn't swing bridge jacks at this point but would love to hear some opinions on them and what you've used...

I really wish I could've got the bridge jack at the same time but maybe down the road a bit.

Might have to fab up a jack tray for temporary use if I can get a buddy to do it.

Right now I'm just hoping to hear back to make sure that the lift has shipped as other vendors said they were out of stock while bestbuyautomotive said they had 1 left and then confirmed it.

I only ordered on Tuesday but I was hoping to get a tracking # and know for sure that the order went through.

Maybe if someone from Bendpak sees this thread they might be able to check.

Did you get one of the last of the old stock HD-14's? I just purchased one about 3 weeks ago. Great price - same as the HD-9's. I also have a 2500 HD Diesel and wanted the piece of mind of the extra capacity since I roll through the scales at about 8000 lbs.

Pay attention to your post caps as the ones I received did not fit correctly. BP had to ship new ones out which then led to a whole other set of issues that I think I have finally worked through with the parts that I have.

Yes I think it was the very last HD14 around. Everyone said they were out and I got an email from bestbuy saying they had 1 left.

I just got a tracking number for YRC this afternoon but so far it doesn't show up in their system.

Any experiences with your ned HD-14 are greatly appreciated.

You bet - I "hope" to have some time this weekend to get it near the stage of firing it up and testing. I am this evening cleaning all the sheaves and pulleys getting ready to string the cables. Also need to run the circuit for power - finally got the 30A GFCI breaker in this past week.

Actually, the hard part is done - lifting the ramps onto the crossbars with just an engine hoist and the wife. She actually ran the hoist while I guided/lifted the ends into position. I've read pretty much every thread here most covering the HD-9 but there was one on a HD-14 and I will tell you it is spot on concerning the ramps - they are HEAVY.

Anyway - pm me if you have any particular questions and I'll do my best to help you out. I will say that the BP CS is pretty good. If the consistency of the quality of some of the individual parts was just as good, their product would be perfect.

They came out with a new model for the 14's which I believe is the HDS series?

Got it tracked on Yellow Freight website so it's on the way should be here next Fri or so.

Hopefully issues will be minimal but we'll see when it gets here. It looks like Bendpak has great customer service which is really important to me as in many industries it has truly become a lost art.

I'm gonna download the install manual to see if I cna get things prepared for when I bring it home..

I wonder why there are not any HD14 lifts available? Are they really that popular?

They came out with a new model for the 14's which I believe is the HDS series?

That is correct - the new series is the HDS. But, from what I can tell, there must have been some production overlap because my HD-14 has some of the new model features such as the zerk fittings on the sheave pins. At least my understanding is that this feature was added to the newer models.

The HDS models do have larger diameter "pulleys", but hey, for $1,000+ in savings, I can live with the old style.
