Yet another Mystery tool thread

I got this tool after my father passed away. I have a bunch of his tools that I am unfamiliar with but this one leaves me scratching my head. It is obviously a wrench but for what? One side is marked 8 and the other 9. My dad was into so many different things that I am not sure which of his possible hobbies this is from... maybe none. Dad was into rebuilding everything. He was also an electrical engineer for General Electric at their jet engine division. But he also was very mechanical. Ideas?

Spoke wrench. But not for bicycles. This one is for motorcycles.

They also have similar ones for old wire car wheels, but I'm pretty sure this is a motorcycle tool.

Thank you. We are all in agreement then. Dad did have some motorcycles and he had a car with true wire wheels on it (55 T-Bird). They were aftermarket but true wires. I didn't know him to have a truing stand but who knows.

By the way that is a great Avatar M6erfan! Who is she? Very nice!

Definitely for a car. 8 and 9 mm are too big for motorcycles. He probably had it so he could check for loose spokes and snug them up so others wouldn't loosen. I owned a wire wheel car, and it needed a check every so often.
