Thanks Mike, these tools are all I was expecting. The addition of these pretty much wipes out any empty space left in my drawers. The grips on the tamper proof Torx drivers are nice, tempts me to try a few screwdrivers at some point in the future.

I am a little disappointed with these, I wish the jaw choice included one for weather pac terminals and ignition wires.

The action of the ratchets are nice and smooth, I like the sharp corners on the extension, most are rounded and that can be trouble with some of the soft differential plugs.

besides wanting the different jaws, how do you like the crimper? I have a cheap one that I bought at the local parts store, but its junk. The ratchet mechanism works halfway half the time, and the handles slide off when you apply pressure. And they arent interchangeable. Id like to find a quality set without spending a small fortune!

The only soft grip ratchets I've ever used are these, so in comparison the SO I couldn't tell you. That said, these feel nice, not sticky like some screwdrivers I've used, I have rather large hands and these fit me well.

I gave them a try yesterday afternoon and found them to work well. No issues with the grips moving. I tried them on insulated terminals, non-insulated terminals, and on open barrel type of terminals, all three worked great, no way I could pull the wire out.

I may have to retract my comment regarding them not working on the weather pac terminals, the open barrel and weather pac crimp look alot alike. The only potential problem is the crimp is flat not rounded, so I'm not sure that the crimped terminals would slide into the weather pac housings. If they do work I'll be very happy, my current tool for crimping these requires two crimps, one for the conductor and the second for the wire retainer and seal. I'll test that later today and post the results here.

I usually use the Klein or SO crimpers, but with those there is no ratcheting assembly, so you just squeeze hard and hope for the best. I've tried to score a set of Burndy crimpers on ebay, but they alway go for big bucks. What is the largest wire size these can handle? I terminate a lot of motors with 10, 8, 6, wire.

Maybe this will help, it comes with 5 jaw sets, here is what the description for each of the jaws,

A: Insulated terminals, AWG 22-18/ 16-14/ 12-10 DIN 0.5-1.0/ 1.5-2.5/ 4-6mm

B: Non-insulated terminals, AWG20-18/ 16-14/ 12-10/ 8 DIN 1.5-2.5/ 6/ 10mm JIS 1.25/ 2/ 5.5/ 8mm

C: Open Barrel terminals AWG 20-18/ 16-14/ 12-10 DIN 0.5-1.0/ 1.5-2.5/ 4-6mm

D: Cord end insulated terminals AWG 22/ 20/ 18/ 16-14/ 12-10 DIN 0.5/ 0.75/ 1.0/ 1.5/ 2.5/ 4.0mm

E: Cord end insulated (for large size) AWG 10/ 8/ 6 DIN 6/ 10/ 16mm

One nice feature of this tool is the jaws slide and lock into place without needed a tool to secure them.

I used it this afternoon and liked it, the action was smooth and it fit in a place where the normal length ratchet would not. I'm considering some of the other styles to add to my collection.
