Glyptal ?
What is it?
Glyptal 1201 Red Enamel (Insulating Paint) is used to insulate the wires
in electric motors.
I used it several years ago when I Ported & Polished my intake manifold. My purpose
was to get the air inside my Intake Manifold to flow as smooth as possible.

Here is my 2nd use: I have a John Deere 105A Lawn Mower with a double bagger
on the back. Last summer I installed the correct ‘High Lift’ blades to get the grass
into the bags, but the grass kept bunching up in the chute.
So, last Friday, I coated the inside of the 2 part chute with Glyptal using a small micro
fiber pad. Yesterday, I mowed the grass for the first time this season and it worked
wonderfully! Not a single blade of grass got caught in the chutes.

Used in the valley and top area of heads to speed the oil return. But grass, sand and the likes are abrasive. I do like the thinking behind the idea, just not sure about the longevity.

Interesting idea, glad to hear it worked. I've never found the need to paint anything on the inside of my motors, oil seems to find the pan without the issue of hyper-cleaning cast iron and worrying about flaking paint.

I use carb cleaner to clean the all ready clean surface on the inside of my engines. It really does help with oil drain back. Never found any in the filter.

Use it all the time at work as a thread/surface seal for vacuum systems. Almost as effective as Torr Seal (two part vacuum epoxy) but not as permanent. Works okay at low pressures as well, use to about 30 psi above that its back to the Torr Seal.
