yet another weird tool

Just acquired this thing. After a lot of searching around, it might be a vintage multitool, or a stove lid lifter, or ???
It appears to be cast steel, was heavily rusted when found, but cleaned up rather spectacularly. Had hoped to find a name somewhere under the rust but no luck.
Anyone?

Thanks, Oregon Dave; yeah, the **** end sure looks like a tack puller, and you could use the square face as a hammer. There's nothing on it sharp enough to open a can, though. Prying tool, could be...
There's an image on the internet (which I can't seem to find) of someone using something like this as a burner lifter on an old wood stove. If I find it again I'll put it up.

Went to Datamp and searched tack puller. Luckily, it wasn't a long list. Clearly some variation of the Young. Stove lifter as you said.

There's actually a very similar one on eBay now, under the heading of "stove lifters". It doesn't have the tack puller.
Asking price is eye-popping!

I've heard those called 'crate hammers' too. From back in the day when freight/cargo arrived in nailed together wood boxes/crates.

It does kinda look like a crate hammer, but it's not big/heavy/sharp enough to do that kinda work!

The buyer did pay the shipping.
Actually, I thought it would go for a decent price - to some collectors, it has a number of things going for it: very rare; a pretty early multitool; great condition; interesting design; historical interest.
It's really mostly a stove lifter, and I like the way the designer integrated the other uses into that one.
