About to pull the trigger and put in a trench for electric (500' to the barn).

Now I have to figure out how to heat it cause if I need natural gas, that goes in the trench too.

How do I pick a heater?

28x40x12 ft. One 10x16 insulated OH door, one man door, no windows. Weekend use in New York winters for tinkering on cars.

I was just going to put in a forced air ceiling heater. How do I size one and are there better options?

I've been looking at radiant vs. forced air. Radiant is starting to win the battle. No noise, no air movement, less gas used. All starting to add up. My house is radiant ceiling heat so I get how it works and I really like it. Looks like it can work with gas.

Two stage seems to be the way to go. Vent it out the side and use outside combustion air. Tube or forced air heaters are both coming in around 12-1300$.
