Wood worker by trade and this is my first restoration of a vise. Trying something new in retirement!
I'm looking for some thoughts on my York 150 vise, picked up at a auction for $70.
and of course have many questions  .
1. the number stamped in the bottom plate in pic 3 what does it mean and does it have any meaning to the date of manufacturing?
2. pic 4 when grinding the anvil i came upon these pits in the casting "what should I do"?
3. pic 5 how far should I grind to finish the top, if at all
4.the back cover plate is missing, I would like to replace it but have no idea where to look. have found new jaws but can get get them made.
5. in a post I saw, paint color RAL3020 I would like to keep original where would i find or match this color
Thank you in advance
