Yost 206 stand

Started a few weeks ago with a 22" double ring gear, 1"x19" diameter plate 1-1/2"round bar and a sprocket

After boring for the 1-1/2" bars and 3/4" mount bolts got it set up to bend the bars.
Used a laser to get the skew right

Set up a couple weed burners to warm the bars up for bending.
After warming it up, used a bent piece of tubing for leverage.

First bend complete, still warm.

Round bars set up and skewed to tack off on the backside.

Setting up sprocket to check and make level.

Bars welded to the backside of the baseplate.

Fitting up tool holders.

Sprocket profiled to front of vice, tool holders tacked up and sprocket welded out to round bars.

Baseplate bolted to ring gear and vise bolted to top plate.

I like the openness of the column and thought it might be a touch springy.
Wrong I was, the three 1-1/2" column bars are very rigid.
This turned out to be a beefy stand for a beefy vise.
