Hello GJ-er's, new guy here.Longtime lurker, recent member and first post.
I'd like to give general thanks for the tips and info received from various members on many different subjects. This is a great group here.

Anyways, this forum helped me selecting a new vise.I ordered the FSV-5 (forged steel ) from the big "A" and they sent an ADI-5 instead and it's a beauty. This was when it was still advertised as FSV, not ADI yet.
I addressed 2 minor issues as follows:
1) rubber rings popping off end of handle when handle dropped.Installed an "E" shaped spring clip/snap ring and fixed this problem.
2) main spindle screw shaft sloppy fit in movable jaw.Installed O-ring on shaft that fits snugly inside smaller bore in movable jaw.Greased well.
I don't know the size of the o-ring but it measures 0.845" installed(stretched) on shaft.(kind of a beotch to stretch and slide over threads but doable)Shaft measures 0.660".Small bore ID measures 0.832".
The spring clip with dimensions is shown below.

EDIT : after checking, the e-ring is actually metric. The dimensions are 19.65 mm OD and 8.32 mm at the narrowest opening.Conforms to ARCON # D1500-10.At the time,I just took handle measurements and calipers to the hardware store and found what fit .
