This is by far the cheapest this vise has been listed for on Amazon. See 3camels history here: http://camelcamelcamel.com/Yost-Heavy-Duty-Multi-Jaw-Combination-360-Degree/product/B00CBL62HQ

This is their ductile iron 60k psi version. It also has floating pipe jaws, rather than cast or rigidly bolted in place, that ought to better grip oddly shaped pieces. Yeah China, but reviews indicate it's a quality beast. I've seen a few posts from members here seemingly happy with it.

I bought that style of vise from northern tool and so far it's been a good vise, had it screwed to the bench for ten years.

For 139.00 & free shipping (Prime), im in! Light duty is all I need it to withstand. The rotating head and base should make it worth it's cost 10-fold on odd shaped welding projects in the garage!! Now to find or build a base!

I believe it is made in china.. same as under many other brands

By far this is NOT the same as other brands. While it is similar to some other brands, it is not made in the same factory, and it is a VERY high quality import.

This is a great price. I thought I was getting a deal earlier this year from NewEgg at $179 (free shipping, no tax)

It's a stout vise. No it's not American made. Yes there are better older american made vises to be had on the used market - if you can find one.

For the homeowner/handyman-plumber/shade-tree-mechanic - it's a solid vise for a great price. IMHO

I think the only thing keeping me from buying it is the heft. I'd like to set up one of those trailer hitch vise deals (on my pallet racking bench), and while I could easily pick up the thing, it would be something of a pain to take on and off.

Doh. Okay, that's why it's good to read. :lol_hitti

What you could do, though is order it online with free ship-to-store and take a look at it there. If you don't like it then get a cancellation on your card. A little hassle to do it that way, but better than paying the shipping.

I'm thinking about buying one. I have a cheapo HF vise on my home welding bench and it works OK but there is so much slop in the fit between the base and the upper part of the vise that when you tighten it down it won't hold very well. I only bought it because I knew I would be using it to hold parts while using a grinder and the jaws would get damaged, and they have. I hate to mess up a good vise, but for this price it might be alright.

This looks like about as good as I've seen for an import.
