I didn't want to clutter up the vise thread with another vise I don't own, but saw this and it looks interesting. I'm guessing it's an older GM Yost from when they were in PA, but that's just a guess.

This is from a CL ad for a garage sale, so I called the guy and he said it says Yost and something about sheet metal (which makes sense considering the jaw shape) and that the jaws are around 4 - 4.5" wide. He said the jaws are in good shape, but there is a small chip out of the swivel base (all the feet are good). It's about an hour from me, but he's only asking $55 for it. I know this isn't a great picture, but you'll get the idea. There just doesn't seem to be much info about these older Yost models around. If it was closer I'd go look at it, but two hours of driving for something I'm not familiar with is a bit much with what I have on my plate for the weekend.

Anyway, feel free to chime in on it.

G-man,

The vise in question is also known as a coachmakers vise. It's great for holding items that don't need the power grip that a heavy iron one does. However it's great for sheet metal, wood and other soft items.
I wish that sale was close to me. I'd love to grab that vise and the cam lock one in the picture.

Yeah, the reason it had my interest was because it's similar to my new (to me) Prentiss coachmaker's vise (also 4.5" jaws).
