Yost Vise question

This is listed locally for $65. Should I get it or not? And is it import or domestic? I don’t Need another vise, but I’ll always put one to work. Thank you all for your knowledge, even if my pocketbook and wife disagree.

If you don’t like it, you could always resell it for more than that. Looks like original paint and the jaw covers sweeten the deal.

I don't think any of them are USA anymore, for awhile they had some USA and the rest China but I the last time I looked they were a few Taiwan and the rest China.

It was acquired by myself for the listed $65 lol. It’s a model 55C, which is apparently Taiwanese made, and the jaw covers are a sweet bonus. So this now brings my total vise count to 5. A 4” and 6” West German Rigid, a craftsman USA 4” and 8”, and this Yost. Y’all are bad influences on me.

I remember way back when I had “only” 5 vises.
Here is about 1/3 of my collection. I had just one when I joined GJ.

Alright guys, my wife misquoted the size of the vise to me. She pulled it from her grandpas old shop, which was in the old barn. It’s only a 6”. But the price was right and it’s in our garage hidden under a pile of **** also from her grandparents estate. I’ll try for pics tomorrow sometime.

It’s autocorrect getting me. I spent 5 years in the oilfield, 36”-60” Ridgid pipe wrenches were our bread and butter out there. I saw guys break pipe out with a 60 and the forks on a front end loader all the time lol.
