Yost Vise "The Gem" 803

Anybody know anything about a Yost #803 Vise? I've talked my dad into handing it over since its been sitting in his barn for years.

I heard those are mae by a company called Yost.

They were originally made in PA., they are still in business in Holland MI. and still sell retail, but being a USA vise maker (well most of their vises are made here), most of their business is with the Military.
The old stuff and the new stuff made in the USA are both good vises.

How long ago did they make this model? Is there a manufacturing date on them someplace? Does "the gem" mean anything special?
