....every day.
i found this franken-bit in the box of augers and brace bits at the local used shop.. clearly has been modified by someone who took a lot of care to create a ball nose auger with a lead screw...
I had to buy it because I have NO IDEA what you might use this bit for, but whoever ground back the spurs and cutters and reshaped the gullet knew what they were doing and had something in mind... do any of you know ( or want to guess? ) what it might be?

the coin is a dime...

Old machinist can make drill bits in their sleep. I have to admit that I've never seen a double fluted upcut ball nose drill bit with a screw lead.

For drilling holes in blocks of cheese.. The holes produce big shavings that are pushed up, and ready to go on your taco salad. Havn't seen one in a while..but thats what it's for.

Is that kind of like a donut hole drill bit?

I couldn't find anything about it, but it sure makes sense. Learn something every day on this forum

Where to buy I need this in my life. Any way to inject hot sauce at the same time?

Found this:

Bull nose. This unusual auger tip, sometimes referred to as a 'solid nose auger', is so named because it resembles a bull's nose. The two cutting holes in the otherwise solid nose of the auger resemble the nostrils. This is an incredibly resilient tip, as the sharpened lips are an integral part of a thick piece of metal.

if you used an auger bit, you should know that it wouldn't pull itself into cheese. cheese is too soft. unless it's plastic cheese.
