I was just reading the catalogue I got mine last week. I forgot the starrett story booklet but got all the other stuff and boy is that large chart useful. I have the small charts that have the dials and the chart is so much simpler. And I even got the little charts and tools and rules booklets for my younger cousins.

I'm a young guy that's just getting into machining and metal working so I wasn't familiar with Starrett before. Anyways I gave them a call to find out what band saw blade of theirs would be the best fit for what I've been cutting a lot lately. I got transferred to a fellow who was an absolute pleasure to talk to. He explained everything I was questioning and gave great advice. He wasn't in any rush to get me off the phone even though I wasn't placing an order.

Needless to say, I will be using them for anything precision I need in the future and will pickup these charts for reference.

Thanks for the tip. I went to their website maybe 2 weeks ago and ordered the large drill and tap chart along with the smaller cards you show in your picture. Just waiting to see if they will show up.

In the mean time, I had some time so I started to put one together in Excel. I was planning on printing it out for the garage. If anyone is interested I posted a link to the Excel file. Still have some updating to do but thought others might be interested.

I've got this. It came out of my grandfather's little home basement shop. He must have gotten it when I was a kid. It's an old calendar from 1970 on one side, and a decimal equivalent and tap drill chart on the other side. It measures 8.5" x 11" and 3/64ths thick, made of vinyl/plastic. I use this thing ALL the time in my shop. It's so handy and really easy to read without the need of optics! It's one of those "take it for granted" items that makes "shop time" a real pleasure.

Cool chart! I have some old books from Copper and Brass Sales at work.

Thanks Jeff. The calendar/chart says Copper and Brass Sales Inc. had locations in Detroit and Grand Rapids, Michigan, Cleveland and Dayton, Ohio, and Oakland, California. I can't even begin to tell you how often I use that chart!

I ordered early/mid June and received an email but so far no chart.

BTW, its just as hot here in my garage. My fan helps but I still sweat the whole time I'm out there. Oh well.

They still have a facility here but are owned by ThyssenKrupp.

My grandfather most likely got the calendar/chart from the Detroit, Michigan facility, but I have no idea if it's still in operation or not. I haven't lived there in many, many years.

My grandfather had a Timken bearings chart that was metal. It hung in our garage as a kid. I think it was fraction/decimal conversion. I wish I knew where that thing went when we moved.
