so I am a borderline hoarder. and my garage is out of control. I am posting this to hold myself accountable. here is the current state of my garage.

And todays progress.

I still have all of this mess left.

my basic plan is to clean al of the garbage out and then organize it. I have 197 days until I leave for a car show in santa maria ca. my plan is to have my car on the road and chopped by that time.

this is what my garage looked like about two years ago.

and this is my new project.

Glendale: I have FSD (flat surface disease) which i think you do too. looks like you are making good progress. Ping pong tables are great if you use them, but if you no longer need it might i make a suggestion. either put it up with a few pictures in the FREE section of Craigslist and don't take the first email unless there is only one and give it to the email that writes a good story and give it to them. or cut it up and use it for shelving unless you use it.

hard to go through stuff like that and i'm sure there is some good stuff so best of luck with that.

the car projects will look great if you have the skills and the time to put them together.

good luck

the ping pong table is going for sure! as well as the wood bandsaw 4 bikes that nobody rides. it is going to be a big purge for sure!

the floors are laminate the prior owner installed them his daughter taught dance classes in the garage. I had planned on ripping them out but I actually have grown to really like them. I will eventually replace them.

yeah I drive on them. use jack stands, cherry pickers I treat it just like a normal floor. they do scratch but I don't worry about to much. my hot water crapped out about a year ago and that bubbled some of it. I plan on going on lumber liquidators and buying something on close out to replace it. it has turned out to be very easy to clean and much warmer in the garage.

here are a few pics.

Thanks for the pics. That certainly was a unique paint detail on the roof!
I have a '62 Sunliner in the garage. All stock.

I also think the laminate floor is an interesting idea and one not seen before. You talked about scratches and putting loads on to but how does it react to oil spills and other chemicals? If bought on sale, this type flooring could be cost effective and not to mention very unique versus the typical garage flooring choices.
The floating style installation could be very easy to put in as well I think?

I clean it with simple green from the dollar store. It typically cleans pretty easy. And I agree I started looking into coatings and race deck style products. I can put a new laminate floor in probably three times and still be money ahead. So that is what I intend to do.

Thanks for posting. I am addicted to buying cars and trucks and it is not easy living a life full of too many projects! I feel for you....

Thanks man. I am done buying and selling for a while. The 41 convertible is a bucket list car for me. It is about time to also build cars with my two sons. So hopefully that will keep me busy the next few years!

so I am pretty much done! here is todays progress.

my wife wants to keep the ping pong table. I will put the last of the bikes in the shed tomorrow. I sold three bikes on craigslist today. I hauled 4 truck loads of straight garbage out over the last few days. I still need to organize the tool box and that is about it for now.

GD: so if she wants to keep the ping pong table i'm guessing she wants to play or keep for the kids so make room for it or put it outside with a tarp on it alongside the garage since i'm guessing you don't get much rain.

WELL DONE on the clean up. i'm proud of you looks like you are almost there.

your wood product floor might be the first one i've seen so good to hear its an option. i use rubber 3/4 inch thick horse mats in my garage.

we host thanksgiving every year and actually used to play ping pong quite a bit so I am fine with keeping it. it is not a huge deal.

thanks man I am actually proud of myself as well.

I would have never installed laminate flooring in a garage and I was actually going to rip it out. everyone told me to leave it and decided to give it a shot. now like I said I will reinstall it again. it is really nice. I am very familiar with the horse mat that you use. my mom has always owned horses.

the plan is to drive the car to a car show in santa maria ca memorial day weekend. that is about 350 miles from my house. I have collected a lot of parts already. so as long as I stick with it I should be good.

thanks for the compliments I appreciate it.

cheers
