Mine are ECFHKY and ECFBP6.

Both have great light output, strong magnetic base and they pivot. Very useful feature.

Let see yours.

I've inquired about those two lights. Was going to buy one or the other from Snap-On. Which one do you like better if you had to choose one?

Dewalt 12V Lithium, has a clip, folding stand, and magnet, head swivels and tilts, super bright and rugged, as I found out after dropping it a couple times. Like it so much, I bought a second one.

Both lights are exactly similar in light output, both have 3.7V 2000mAh batteries, run time and charging time are are exactly the same as indicated on the boxes.

But I would choose the Blue-Point just because it has hook and stand support whenever you might need them.

Yeah, really funny! This was mine until I parked a coach on it today.... Snap-On CTLED4918HO. I loved this thing, used it every day for 3 years or so.

Thank you for the reply. I may have to get that one now.

I now mostly use a led head lamp. I was sceptical at first too but after using it a couple times I really like it. It's always pointed where your looking and it's just right there if you need it in your hand.

I bet if you send it in for flat rate repair they will send you a new one?

Well, trouble is they don't sell that light anymore, I don't care for what they replaced it with, it has 8 detente settings if I remember it right and mine has 12, it's just a finer adjustment on the head, I need that for the dark places I end up in. Luckily, I had one in my shop at home that needed a bulb and a lens that's been around for a while from some bunch of used tools I bought a while back. Bulb in mine got the flange a little bent, but worked fine, and I made a lens for now out of a clear plastic fruit container we had. I'm back in business. I was very sad when I did this today, not knowing just what I had sitting at home and if I could make another.:withstupi:withstupi

I hate it when I do stupid stuff.

Any specific brand you like? The headlamps I've seen don't really have a decent light output (compact ones anyway).

I just use the free one from HF... I'm a tight ***...

Can't go wrong with free.
However, been using a few cheap lights and its frustrating. Weak magnets, weak lightning, they keep rolling/falling around and I am constantly repositioning them.

I just got this little guy, and don't know how i've lived without it.

It runs off AAA batteries, or AC adapter, has a magnetic base and a clamp on base, a very flexible neck, that stays in place, and a spot/flood feature.

I'm loving it!

RivennHewn,

Where did you purchase the above flex light? Do you have a website link?

How much was it?

Thanks,

Dave

I think it says the CoO is Taiwan, but could be India....the type is blurry.

Tis could be a future purchase, all I can recall finding have all been China made and they are quite frustrating to use as you have to shake or hit them sometimes or if you accidentally bump it the light will go out.

Best light ever had was a Black and Decker from AutoZone my Dad got me. It had a switch, up was high, down low, and middle off. The output looked the same on either setting and it would give bright output for hours on a charge. I now prefer battery operated.

Does this Delta light have any flaws? Maybe, light penetration, beam width or too dim.......do you have to cycle the lightswitch? Ive had lights that were terrible about this....you had to hit the switch to turn it on,hit it again and it goes to a different mode, then to strobe or dual lighting, then finally to off. Made me mad and I turned it on and set it on the sidewalk for someone to pick it up. I hated it so bad i didnt donate it to goodwill because i didnt want it to punish the next person. Sure, the LED will maybe last 100,000 hours but the button will be long gone before that.

Any corded shockproof worklight that's safe to use around gas fumes, led preferably, I don't like battery powered lights.

Given up on any battery lights with magnets I seem to have a exceptional skill of leaving them stuck to things. Had a lovely ring rechargeable for about 3 years eventually died, replaced with new model with magnet 3 days till it vanished, I'm an idiot sometimes

what you want is an "explosion proof" LED flashlight or worklight. they make them corded an cordless.. designed to work around gas or in manholes.. this is what a $500 flashlight looks like-

image.jpg

i dont believe corded lights will be much cheaper.. i have an $800 droplight from the gas company at home..

edit - although a quick amazon search does show some cheap "non industrial type" models.

this is one of the headlights i use to work at night. made by coast, and there is a comperable model sold under the "LED LENSER" (leatherman) brand.. they both have this model in a rechargable battery form - i bought the regular battery one because i cant wait for recharges sometimes.. anyway - the battery pack is detachable, so you can wear it on your belt and they give you an extension cord, or you can detach the headband and the light will mount on the pack, so you can lay it on the ground to use as a stand. it has 3 brightness settings - the brightest one is like 350 lumens, and has a focusing lens to make it a floolight or spotlight.. this thing can light up my enitre work area at night.. its really pretty impressive.. i think its only $65 on amazon now. i bought it when it was $100..

image.jpg

i did get by for a long time with one of the $25 coast models sold in lowes.. they are tiny, and bright - but the power only lasted like 3 or 4 hours so i upgraded..

the pictured model makes a world of difference - even just on the med setting. and the light is very evenly dispursed - NOT like the 12v dewalt model people have mentioned that has that small "bright spot" area, and the rest is just kinda overflow light.. i have that too..

Fluorescent up to four feet long. The.good ones come.with a long cord and hangars at each end. High dollars for the manhole rating though.

You.might get lucky searching ebay for utility/telco versions.

My two favorites: Streamlight 66118 Stylus Pro Pen Light, has ON /OFF amd a momentary ON if you lightly push the button. No strobe or other ******** you have to cycle the button through, just On & Off. Very bright too.

My second favorite: NEBO LARRY 8 LED FLASH LIGHT WITH MAGNET
These are really lightweight and throw a lot of light.

i think this is the explosion proof flourescent light i have, or one very similar. i found this model for $525 - but this is a very heavy duty model. the models floating around in my company seem like they would be cheaper.. they are the stick type with the hooks as described..

i cant post more than one picture in a single post for some reason but this is the rechargable lithium/led light i have and use at home. i think its like $45 on amazon.. i love it, i use it for everything and the charge last like 3 hours or more.. i really think its one of those "most for your money" purchases.. its made by capi tools.

I'm a small engine mechanic, I don't work in manholes, I should be ok with basic automotive shop lights.I just want one that doesn't break if I drop it on the floor or cause a fire hazard around gasoline.

Well the microstream and mini mag will fit their small unit. The stinger would fit the one I showed.
You can probably use mine for the mini mag aswell as they aren't much smaller than a strion. The microstream tho is tiny.

You shouldn't need a holder for a microstream because I wouldn't be using the microstream for long periods of time

Had a bunch of different lights/headlamps and I now have 2 of these. It's freaking amazing. Wide light that lights up any where you look up close or 200yrds away. I can see the tops of 100 ft tall pine trees 100 yards from my house. Had lights that would shoot a more focused beam that far but sucked for up close work. This does it all with the same beam.
