What's your favorite worklight right now? I need more lighting when I am wrenching, BIG TIME!

I have a rechargeable LED underhood light that I also will use as a portable because it's the best thing I have now that my 18v Milwaukee flashlights have died. But it is absolutely not suited for the kind of situations I am putting it in.

I was looking at picking up a few of these, but don't love the idea of having to swap out AAA batteries all the time:

I've also been looking at flexible "snake" lights, corded LED reels, and all kinds of other stuff.

I know you guys will steer me right.

I have the same lights (different brand) but they work great! And at $3 a piece they are more than worth it a buddy of mine has a rechargeable bluepoint slim led shop light and I have pretty well adopted it, it cost $60 (which isn't that bad really) and it's worth every cent

Which BP does he have?

How often do you need to replace the batteries on those cheap little LEDs that I linked to?

I run my little led lights constantly, I keep a few in the truck for night time wheeling and roadside repairs and I keep some in the shop (I like using them more than a trouble light) and I get between 50-60 hours of on time with them

Wait till April HF has a coupon in there mailer you can get as many of those lights as you can get coupons for free. Those lights are one of the free items for the month of april then you can use that money to get another tool for your shop.

I use floor lamps. If I need extra lighting I use a hangar lamp and/or a flashlight.

I'm not a fan of the led stuff, it doesn't "flood" (or reflect) well. The traditional stuff does and it's cheap too. Sometimes you can pick up hand spotlights pretty cheap (under 10 bucks) most of them have battery or plug in (car lighter) power; would just need an ebay car lighter to house plug adapter (2 bucks) to use it without batteries for an extended duration (unless you're comfortable using your car battery to power it).

Might have to build a stand of wood to angle the spotlight where you need it but that shouldn't be a huge deal off the cuff.

Hands down my favorite is the Stubby II by Saf-T-Lite. It is a 100% made in the USA worklight that uses superior LED technology (2 main LEDS that put out over 900 lumens total) & one LED on the end that acts as a flashlight or very focused light in tight situations.

I have the Stubby II w/cordreel combo, and I love it.

I will be doing a full review on it soon, but it blows the auto-store LED worklights out of the water. The funny thing is, is that most people think the more LEDs = better....nope, not the case. The type & quality of the LEDs make all the difference.

Two enemies of LEDs are heat & the circuit board (driver) failing. The Saf-T-Lite LEDs do not use a driver, and are directly wired into the power source & they have eliminated the heat issues that plague typical systems by adding on a large heatsink to the LEDs themselves.

Check them out here ---> http://www.saftlite.com/led15

They have many different versions of the Stubby II.....corded, cordless, and 12 volt w/clamps to attach to your car battery (fluorescent).

MADE IN USA.....Top quality.....and super-bright

Snap on 18v cordless halogen. I got it when I got my snap on 1/2 CT impact. Overall my favorite flashlight for most things.
