First time on a truck was my MAC dealer's truck. Well stocked! I simply bought a flat head pocket screwdriver ($11!!!), an d asked questions. Although, this was after I had gone through the tech program at my local community college. Where I currently work I have the same MAC guy. He's cool, friendly, and makes it a point to show us the new product/deals. He is a good salesman. My (nonexistent) snap-on guy is a total jerk... I wont even get into it. The matco guy is real nice. He puts great prices on his trade-in items, and is always willing to just let me look at, and ask prices on the tools I hadn't experienced before (new to matco.)

What can I say besides there are good tool guys, and bad ones. Same as everything else! :)

it was many years ago now really, as a kid dad had a snap on guy come to our garage and i was amazed at things i saw! i even got a free hat that i somehow lost, still wish i had it!

then again a few times but never paying attenion as i couldn't afford anything with dad. then last couple years been on the snap on truck quite a bit. great driver, never really does great amounts off, but always gives me promo price if its recent enough.

spent a grand with him since last year, and lined up a couple hundred more next time he shows.

got the ole man to buy a 36" 1/2" breaker bar last time he came to my garage. i need to get some bits replaced and a 24" bar, creeper. i don't need alot right now but still have to have something decent.

he really has been good to me as i got laid off and has worked with me on my payments, great guy. i tossed him some extra for being soo good to me and will continue to buy as i can when i need it.

First time was in the late 1980's!

I'd been buying mostly Britool tools (the British equivalent of Snap On) , but I'd just gone to a dealer to get a couple of bits and the quality had nosedived! The chrome was the roughest I'd ever seen and even the dealer was embarrassed! Needless to say, I didn't buy any, and I was actually quite mad that a company that used to produce such quality could produce such ****!

On my way home I saw a Snap On truck and stopped. After struggling with quality issues for so long in the shops I was overwhelmed by the quality of the Snap On, not to mention the quantity on the van! As I related my sorry tale the dealer gave me the softest sell ever and just placed a snap on ratchet and socket in my hands!

All the things my Grandfather told me about American made tools then seemed to make sense, and I spent more on tools that afternoon than I ever had before, walking out with pretty much a 3/8 drive set and some of the then current square handle screwdrivers!

No regrets though! I still have those item's, they are still in regular use, and most importantly, I still get great pleasure from their use! I have tools by other brands as well now, mostly stuff I have needed when the tool truck wasn't around, and I have no complaints about my Stahlwille or Hazet, but Snap On remains my favourite to this day, and I still get a thrill stepping onto that truck!

I was 16 when I first got on a MAC truck. I was in awe and started saving every cent I had to buy those tools.

First time was about 1977. My Dad had some Snap On tools that we used building and working on my old Harley. Got on a SO truck and absolutely loved it. Have bought a lot of Snap On tools over the years. Yeah, they cost too much but I still have every SO tool ever bought. I've bought and gotten rid of some of the other stuff but never sell Snap On. Long since forgotten what I paid for most of it but still have them and use them. They've been a good investment for me. And I still love getting on the truck.

First time was a Snap-On truck, 18 years old driving wreckers in 74. Got a set of 3/8 sockets for $55 bucks back then. Still have them today. Payment plan was 5 bucks a week. Still get a thrill getting on a truck.

My first trip onto the snap on tool truck was like a kid going to the amusement park. He had a decent amount of stock and I bought 3/8" metric deep and shallow sets and a f936 Back in 2006 it was a sum of a little over 390.00. I knew right then that I was going to be spending some serious coin if I wanted nice tools.
