They want $500 for the box and tools inside. Deal or no deal. I'm really hunting hard for a good quality older box. I don't really care so much about what tools are there - that's a bonus. I'm told it's a matco. My guess is matco box has good quality tools.

If it was Empty and in Good Shape id think somewhere around $350. I really like the Drawer configuration with all the small drawers. Without knowing what Tools are Lurking inside, Its hard to say what its really worth.

Thx - I'm trying to determine rough fair value of box alone - not considering tools. YES - I also like drawers config :) - The box is 4hrs away and I don't want to drive to look at something that isn't worth what they're asking. I'm assuming, based on pic, it's in reasonably good condition.

Seeing how you are gonna travel to pick it up, I would request more pics. Show inside and sides and back. Also are they firm at 500? I would let them know you are coming a long way to pick it up and in fuel alone over 100 so maybe they will come down some. Also just how many people have offered anything for it?? :headscrat I like it tho, and I think it would look very good in any garage. Best of luck to ya, and if u do choose to get it, show up here with some pics plz.

Decent price for the set, all depends on actual condition though and what boxes typically bring for your area. I have a Cornwell version of that top box and its a tank.

i'd guesstimate the box is mid to late 80's vintage judging from the drawer configuration.

used box prices vary widely all over the country, if it seems like a decent deal, and you want/need the box, it's worth it.

That looks to be only 26" wide. A guy I worked with had the Mac verson, those are very good boxes. Friction slides. For me to travel that for, it would have to be perfect, $400 would be my top dollar.
