So what do you have your eye on? I've been looking closely at this Tekton Extra Long Ratcheting Box End set (Metric). I like how both ends of the wrench are ratcheting box in different sizes. That saves space and is quite convenient. $117 on Amazon, $110 on Tekton's website (without shipping cost). Made in Taiwan.

I purchased Tekton's 1/2" torque wrench last fall, been quite pleased with it.

I've eyed those Tekton wrenches for a long time. I think they would be a great time saver, especially on brakes, etc.

I'll likely purchase a Milwaukee 3/8" stubby impact wrench.

Been looking at Capri super thin wrenches.

I've been wondering about Capri--don't have any of their tools, but they keep popping up on my Amazon searches. I think their tools are also made in Taiwan and their price point(s) are near the same as Tekton.

I've gonna have two hours to kill tomorrow and am considering running up the Harbor Freight to grab some Quinn pliers and those pro screwdrivers the folks here seem to like. I'll leave them in a locked box at my father's.

I've got a Capri torx screwdriver set and like them. Also the brake pad tool.

I am honestly not sure myself. Part of the reason why I havent pulled the trigger.

For what they are used for (low torque) and how often I will use them I figured it cant be that bad.

DeWalt 12v Impact

Yep, if my ancient GM 1/2" impact wrench ever dies, I'll be picking up either a Milwaukee or DeWalt impact gun. Eric O of South Main Auto uses both (as well as an ancient Astro). If that wizard is using it, then it's golden.

To be honest, everything I'm buying right now (which isn't much) is about tool organization. I've bought some Ernst Grabber wrench holders and a few odds and ends here and there but I'm starting to get really OCD about my tool organization.

I'm thinking about jumping into the Japanese tool thing though. Those Koken ratchets look pretty sweet but almost too pretty for me to feel comfortable using them.

Probably a stubby torx set. My current torx set is adequate but sometimes the bits are too big to reach small bolts in the engine compartment of my VW.

I have about 5 sets like that in an Amazon list I have been eyeing for a long time. Also a couple other non-ratcheting extra long box ends. I tend to wait longer on pricier hand tools, M18 & M12 tools I buy all the time so easily when great deals come up.

My next big purchase is likely the Milwaukee quik lok OPE stuff.

Looking at adding even more to the M12 collection: stubby impact, cut off tool, polisher. With the impact comes a full 3/8 impact socket set.

Also looking at the Gearwrench 120XP socket set deal, and some Wera screwdrivers.

Might also get a HF 5 drawer cart soon, as I need a smaller toolbox that's more portable.

Thinking about getting a new welding helmet. It's between the esab a50 sentinel or Lincoln Viking 3350.

I like the fact that they're flex-head ratcheting wrenches. Since I already have a metric set of combination wrenches (the typical fixed box/crescent combo wrench set), the flex-head feature of these ratcheting wrenches adds a new weapon to the arsenal. I can see using these flex-head ratcheting wrenches when the space is too tight for a ratchet/socket and the angle too sharp for a typical combo wrench.

I want a FF80 or might wait until SK comes out with a LP90 flex 3/8. I really want a regular length flex ratchet when I don't need a lot of leverage but more than a stubby.

I bought the metric and sae set and returned both. Wasnt happy with the fit and finish, I found the beam corners to be sharp, the edges on the box ends sharp as well.

I've got a few things on the wish / soon to purchase list:
1. 1/2" medium duty impact gun
2. 3/8" flex head (or flex head + bent handle) ratchet
3. Snap-on Torx Soft Grip T-Handle wrenches

I also need a nice base tool cabinet w/ drawers, on wheels. And, a bike lift.

Yeah....its a solid list......will require solid coin, too.

I'm looking to get a twin-stack oiled compressor. I like the MAC2400.

I'm not sure we're talking about the same set. The set I'm interested in are dual box ends. It sounds like you purchased the combination set.

A 12mm Ford Truck driveline socket. None of my 12 point 12mm will fit in there without interfering with the U joint and the shaft. Have a lot of towing coming up soon and one of the rear u joints has started to make noise.

Hope it's a U joint and not the entire cardan joint or centering ball.

Ah, ok. What did you get to replace the Tekton set? And are you happy with that set.

I did not replace the set. I had heard decent reviews of them on YouTube and the like, and purchased them on impulse to check them out.

This set is really nice, reversible and offset on one side which comes in handy. I considered the Tektons also but I didn't want 6 point, which if you need 6 point is an obvious down side, if you don't its probably a positive.

For my next tools I'm looking at Snap on Mini picks, EZ red 3 piece 1/4"/bit ratchets and GW or VIM long torx.

I just raided HF and Ebay for some odds and ends.
So the next thing on my list is probably going to be a chop saw

I picked up two CM block grinders with the original grinding wheels. I need to replace one with some quality stones, and the other will get either both wire wheels or one wire wheel and one buffing wheel.

I've got a CM 113.*** table saw that I have outfitted with a Beismeyer fence and made a router insert, and picked up a Kreg router lift. Need to install the lift, get a adhesive tape measure, get a Microjig splitter setup, and some board buddies.

Prob should pick up a Stihl 029 chainsaw as I have a few more oaks in my yard that need to come down.

Also should find a nice used Framing nailer for my upcoming shed addition. Roofing nailer might be of some use too.

I like NAPA's Carlyle line, but this Carlyle set skips the 9mm X 11mm wrench. That's not a big issue for me, but what about owners of Euro vehicles, or mechanics who work on Euro vehicles. Won't they need that 9mm X 11mm wrench?

I prefer 6 point wrenches/sockets. As a DIY weekender, I'm always concerned about stripping a fastener. I don't have a blow torch to get it off, lol.

Since you're in the UK, when you refer to a tool "truck" does that mean Snap-on (or Mac or Matco)? Just wondering.

Yeah its kind of unfortunate they skipped it, I'm sure the 9x11mm wouldn't have costed them THAT much to add to the set, but for the price I figured I'd go for it. For what its worth I work on Euro cars (BMW mostly but Audi/VW/Merc too) and haven't needed the 9mm x 11mm in this style yet. I've used my 11mm wrench a fair bit (Brake line fittings/bleeders on a few cars) but that's about all I've ran into so far. Having it certainly adds value to the Tekton set for sure tho.
