Your thoughts on my diagram...will it work?

Hi - Diagram attached. The dashed line represents adding a run to a heater in my attached garage. I've checked out a number of calculator links in this forum, but can't seem to figure out if adding a 70' run of 3/4 inch line will adequately supply the garage heater along with the other appliances when simultaneously on. If I have to use pipe larger than 3/4 inch, I'll have to connect right after the meter and run line along the house, which will be 40' of extra piping that I'd like to avoid (& which might not work anyway). The diagram should say it all (I hope), anxious for your thoughts. Thanks!

Well, a 1" pipe @ 125' will only support 126k btu's, so you may be borderline for the set-up your showing. If you haven't already, also consider the amount of fittings in your calcs..

I would really like to see a 1 1/4" trunk line with your 1/2" and 3/4" branch runs taking off the trunk. Start out with the right volume of gas. You have all the pressure you need.

Thanks for the input dave67fd & phbsales. Good point on the fittings...is there a rule of thumb as to how much a 90 degree fitting adds to the total feet of pipe in the diameter calculation tables?

3/4" pipe is to small for 105k @ 100 feet, you should at the very least run the main at 1" all the way to the fireplace then tee off to the fireplace and continue that 1" to the garage heater.......remember 1" pipe has almost twice the area of a 3/4" pipe.
better yet would be to run 1 1/4" main all the way to the fireplace then run 1" to the garage heater.

For example:for 3/4" sched 40 pipe
screwed 90 deg. =1.8'
" 45 =1.2'
" "T" through branch=4.6'
" "T" through run= 1.4'
Some valves can add up to 14'

A good rule of thumb is 5' per fitting then you more than covered.
You can and should refer to the different sizes which are found in most gas service handbooks.
