PS: I am still looking for anyone's perspective on whether or not the VCT glue will stick to my cheap rustoleum water-based epoxy coat or do I have to strip it all off?

Know? No, but based on my experience with the Armstrong VCT tile adhesive, I would be surprised if it gave you any trouble. More likely the "epoxy" would come up with the tile before the tile would seperate from the "epoxy".

So here is my question since we are talking VCT...can I glue them to a "big box" cheap epoxy coating or do I have to strip it all off? I was strongly considering a full solids epoxy but am concerned about prep and thought VCT may ease that burden...but if I have to strip all my previous coating off for VCT, I may as well go full solids epoxy...?

Thoughts?

If the existing epoxy is failing then so will your tile! I wouldn't do it.

Yeah, as I am prepping to paint the ceiling and walls, I have been sweeping the floor and moving stuff around and there are a couple more spots where the paint is coming up in small areas...so I fear I will have to strip it all off and start from scratch.

Dang...everything is a science project with me!!

My VCT has been installed for 7 years with no serious issues. My garage is 1350 sq. ft., so ceramic tile was out of my budget and VCT was a logical solution.
